Kai sat next to Jennie on her bed. He put his hands over the princess's lap and leaned in for a kiss. But Jennie pulled back, which made the soon to be prince confused. "We are about to get married. Why would you pull away from a kiss with your future husband?" He asked the girl that was sitting uncomfortably next to him.

"It's just that..." Jennie started, but was unable to finish. She knew that if she told him the truth, he will be disgusted and he will tell her father, resulting into Rosé being executed. Jennie would rather die herself than have the person she loves being killed.

"I don't feel ready yet. I am not that familiar with you and you know... We should take it a little slower. We have three more weeks on our hands." Jennie lied, which made her fiancé convinced with her words. "I see. It's alright. We can go as slow as you wish." He assured the girl, who just gave him a faint smile.

Jennie hated the idea of lying to Kai. He's the sweetest guy she has ever met, and lying to him felt so wrong... But she didn't have a choice. It was for the better of her and Rosé. After sharing a few other words, Kai finally left Jennie alone. Dinner time was close, so Jennie decided to change her dress and shoes.

She wore a light blue dress, that was similar to the one she wore on the day she met Rosé and the shoes her private shoemaker made her. She looked stunning, yet classic. Beautiful. Simply beautiful. She was asked by a maid to go to the dining room, and so the princess did. The dinner went fine, until it was time for dessert, when Jisoo stroke up a conversation.

"So... Jennie, how come you have been hanging out with that shoemaker so much?" She asked, which made her sister freeze in her seat. She looked over at her older sister, then at her parents. "Oh... I just go and inspect the shoes she is making for my wedding. I have to make sure that they look perfect, so I spend every chance that I have to criticize her work." Jennie perfectly lied, making both her parents and her sister believe her words.

After dinner, Jennie went to her room and stayed there until it was past midnight. That's when she snuck out of her big and extravagant room, to go no where else but to Rosé's room. She knocked on the door and was let in by the younger, who was half asleep. She decided to knock on the girl's door, instead of entering on the younger in a state she wouldn't be comfortable showing.

"Jennie? Why did you come here so late?" She asked, after she closed the door. "I want to sleep next to you." The older sincerely told her. "Oh... Alright. But my bed isn't the most comfortable." Rosé sighed. "No worries. If you're next to me, even a rock would be comfortable." Jennie replied, gaining a giggle from the younger.

They both layed on the bed and immediately fell asleep. Finally, after eight years of having trouble sleeping in her own bed, Jennie could finally rest well. In Rosé's arms she felt... Safe. A warm, yet sweet hug. They looked like a married couple, but they only confessed to each other a few hours ago. Love has different ways of evolving.

They felt happy together in that moment, but only if they knew. Oh... Only if they knew what was happening behind their backs. If they knew...
