tell joseph i said hi

"I'm sorry, I involved you in all of this," Mhae Lee apologized to Joseph.
She cradled her head in her hands as Joseph scrolled through her phone, checking the damage.
"Don't worry about it, love," Joseph said, handing her the phone back, "Just listen to what your publicist say and hopefully this all blows over soon, especially since none of it is true."
He grabbed his pants from the floor and Mhae Lee averted her eyes as he put them on.
"I'm going to make us some breakfast," He said before leaving the room, but not before planting a kiss on her head.

Meanwhile, Mhae Lee was having trouble thinking. She didn't know what to do. For the first time in her life she didn't have a plan. I'm definitely never drinking again, she thought.
First, what the hell was she going to do with the Jason situation? She never thought he would do something like this. What happened to the nice guy she had met at the park? He knew how cruel this industry could be, so why would he put her in this position when he was the one that hurt her in the first place? Second, what was she going to tell Joseph? Sure, she liked him. She liked him a lot, actually. However, she wasn't sure if she should drag him even further in the mess. People are already thinking they had an affair behind Jason's back, she didn't want his career to end before it even started. She cannot bring him down with her. She leaned forward, letting her head hit the pillow on her lap before letting out a groan of frustration. Who knew tripping over your own feet while running in the park could have such dire consequences?

"You honestly did not have to make us breakfast," Mhae Lee said, wiping her mouth with a napkin, "But, thank you anyways."
Joseph gave her a shrug, "It was nothing, love. I'm glad you liked it."
"I did..." Mhae Lee trailed off. She shifted in her seat.
"What's wrong? You okay?" Joseph asked, concerned.
     "I-It's just," She stammered.
She paused for a second, collecting herself.
"You know, if it wasn't obvious before, I like you," She confessed.
Joseph smiled at her confession then rested his hand on top of hers.
"But," She continued, "I can't be in a new relationship right now."
His smiled faltered and Mhae Lee avoided his gaze because she couldn't bare to see his big brown eyes be filled with sadness.
"Y-you know, I just broke up with Jason, so I'm still healing," She said, "Then these articles came out and it's not gonna be good for either of our reputations if the press finds out about us. It's just too dangerous right now. I'm sorry, I don't want you to suffer because of me."
