Imagine: Penny comforting you after you've had a bad day.
You have had the most horrible, atrocious day - dare you say "ever"? It started out okay, you woke up next to Penny, in your warm and cozy bed. You had gotten up to take a shower, but as soon as you stepped into it, you fell. You had hit your head and bruised up your arm pretty bad.
Penelope - of course - being a pretty deep sleeper, didn't wake up to the thud coming from the bathroom. You wished she had, that way she could come and help you up, give you an animal ice pack or just anything. Sadly, she hadn't.
So, in a frustrated haze, you stood up and rather aggressively took your shower.
Getting dressed hadn't been any easier, your favorite clothes were in the wash. You had to pick from some old and very uncomfortable choices to go to work today. The collar of the shirt was to high, the sleeves were right around your underarms, and the material was worn and scratchy. Your pants were hardly better, too short and tight around the waist.
It doesn't help that once you were outside and walking to your car, you tripped and spilled your drink all over your shirt.
At this point, you were sure that your day was cursed. I mean, one mishap, it's whatever. Two mishaps, not mind-blowing. But three in a row? Really, universe? Now it's just messing with you.
On your drive to work, traffic was slow. You had narrowly gotten past the construction crew in the road, and finally you thought to yourself. Finally, you can get to work and attempt to improve your day.
You walked into your office and sat down, when your boss came running in the door.
"Y/L/N, we have a problem!" You rolled your eyes and stood up, followed your boss to the previously mentioned problem.
"What is it, boss?"
"Someone made a mistake and got the quantity wrong for the shipment. We have 10,000 products to sell instead of 1,000 by the end of the day."
Your eyes widened in horror as you opened the boxes, the sight in front of you confirming the issue.
God, this is going to be a long day. And it was. Oh, it was. You worked your ass off all day long and it didn't help that your coworkers were slacking off. By the end of the day, you had only sold a little over half of the amount. Your board of directors at the company was very disappointed, not in you specifically but you still felt it.
When you arrive home, you flop onto the couch and Penny gasps as the look of sorrow and exhaustion in your face.
"Oh, sweetie pie." She frowns, "what has happened? Are you ok?"
You groan, your emotions spilling into words. "I had the worst day ever."
"How about we eat some ice cream and watch a movie?" She suggests, her comforting smile stretching from ear to ear.
"Yeah, Pen. That sounds great." She kisses your lips and walks to the kitchen, grabbing bowls, spoon, and obviously the ice cream. Filling the bowls to the brim, she's basically emptied the tub of ice cream. It makes you wonder why she didn't just bring the tub and some spoons.
Penelope plops down on the couch next to you and hands you your bowl of I've cream, you notice that she's taken the effort to buy your favorite flavor. Smiling, you rest your head on her shoulder and she rubs your back as the two of you engage in consuming the most perfect dessert to ever exist.
"Feel better, sugar?" She asks, you hum and nod. You're finally feeling relaxed after a long, hard day. Without even realizing, you've drifted off to sleep on the arms of your favorite girl.
