Imagine: Will is jealous of you and Morgan's friendship.

*Will's pov*

Ever since the BAU had been invited in on a case that Y/N and I are the lead detectives on, they have reconnected with an old friend. Unluckily for me, it was Derek Morgan, "Chocolate Thunder," the agent most specialized in killers with fixations and obsessions. There's about a million nicknames you could call him, most of them appointed by the BAU's very own technical analyst.

I can't take my eyes off the infuriating sight of my partner laughing with another guy, their hand resting on his muscular chest. It's so aggravating because in the last few months that we've been dating, they haven't once laughed like that in front of me. But with Morgan, it seems to come easily for them. They've just reunited after years of no communication, and the two of them are already back into their own flow.

How am I supposed to compete with him? Whenever I'm met face to face with Agent Derek Morgan, all I can see on him are the insecurities that I have. He's handsome, funny, smart, charismatic, and Y/N seems to be more comfortable with him than they've ever been with me. He's all the things I'm never going to be able to see myself as, despite Y/N's reassuring words. I mean, hell, he's calling my partner "pretty thing" whilst I'm right in front of him. The nerve of this man is outrageous.

Apparently, in my fit of silent jealousy, I'd forgotten to laugh at one of Derek's stupid jokes. Y/N raises their eyebrows at me, expecting some sort of reaction. However, I don't seem to have their ideal one because I just "hmph," and walk away.

Out of the corner of my eye, I see them turn to Morgan and rest a hand on his shoulder, clearly apologizing for my behavior as if it isn't rational. They're letting a guy hit on them right in front of me, they might as well just kiss him already.

I clench my jaw in pure spite and jealousy as I watch Agent Morgan rest a hand on their back, rubbing it before kissing their head. This is my last straw.

I stomp toward the two of them, and wrap my arm around Y/N's waist. They glance up at me confusedly, and I just give them a rather hot kiss.

Derek raises his eyebrows and looks away, clearing his throat awkwardly as I continue to kiss Y/N. They're giggling into the kiss now, slapping my shoulder as they pull away to get a breath of air.

"So what were you guys up to before? Anything interesting?"

Morgan drops his head in a light chuckle, putting his hand over y/n's head and lightly shaking it. I quickly move my hand to their head, pushing his off.

"We were talking about the time that this pretty lil' thing thought it would be a good idea to hide behind the washing machine during a game of hide-and-seek. After I couldn't find them, I got my mom and sisters who couldn't find them either. They ended up calling the cops and when y/n heard the sirens, they popped out of the utility room." Y/n is laughing now, their face dropped in a mixture of amusement and embarrassment.

"Hmm. Yeah, they're a goofy one, huh?" Y/n leans into my side and rests their head on my chest.

"Well, it's getting late. Will and I should probably get to the hotel so that we can go to bed." Y/n sleepily announces, their head still resting on my chest as they yawn.

"Alright, c'mere." Morgan pulls Y/n into a hug, "You get some sleep, yeah? And I don't wanna hear y'all doing the hanky panky through the hotel walls, ok?" He kisses the top of their head and I grab their arm, gently pulling them back to me.

"Let's go." I say, a bit harsher than intended. They seem a bit confused but I practically pull them to the car with me.

The ride to the hotel is silent, y/n's hand traveling to my arm a few times. I shrug it off every attempt they get, still annoyed at their previous interaction with the agent.

Once we're in our room, y/n is in the bathroom. They're doing some stupid nighttime skin care routine, whatever that is. Meanwhile, I'm laying on the bed, staring at the ceiling.

The weight of the bed shifts, letting me know that Y/n has crawled into it. I don't talk to them though, I'm still frustrated.

"Will?" They ask, me humming in response. "Are you mad at me?"

"What do you think?" I sternly ask, it's not much of a question though.

"Will, can you please just tell me what I've done?" They softly say, their eyes sad. It almost makes me feel bad for being so mad, almost.

"I don't know, maybe it's your constant flirting with your 'friend.'"

"So that's what this is. Jealousy?"

"No!" I groan. "I just want you guys to have a normal friendship and not seem like he's the person you're dating instead of me."

"Will! C'mon, you're my boyfriend. Not Morgan, that's for sure."

"Doesn't seem like it." I mumble.

Y/n straddles my lap, grabbing my face and turning it so that I'm looking at them. "Will, I am dating you. I don't want to date Derek, because he and I are just friends. And trust me, he's like that with a lot of his friends! Have you seen him with Garcia? We were on a case and they were talking to each other like phone sex operators." They giggle which in turn makes me chuckle.

"So you don't like him?" I ask, still needing a bit of reassurance.

"No, I don't like him. Not like I like you."

"But what about the fact that you've only laughed super hard with him?"

"Ugh, Will. We've only been dating for a little bit, it's normal for us to take time to get used to each other. Plus, I didn't think you'd like my witchy cackle."

"I love your witchy cackle."

They giggle, lean down and kiss me, hands tangled into my hair. We fall asleep with them laying on my chest, and I feel relaxed.

The next day when I see them laughing and talking together, I smile. For the first time, I don't feel jealous of Derek Morgan. But I'm not being best friends with him.
