After the second attack, the ship suffered enough damage that fully repairing it would put them almost a year behind schedule. With the vessel docked at the Refit Station orbiting Concord, the crew was finally granted extended leave. Everyone welcomed the downtime — many renting temporary houses just to get off the ship for a while.

"You still got that video of Chief, Serge?" Muhmep asked George.
He nodded.
She grinned, stretching ear to ear. "Hey, Chief!"
Yuri turned around as he closed the door to his quarters. "What is it, Corporal?"
She strutted toward him with way too much confidence. "Wanna make a bet?"
"A bet? With you?" He crossed his arms. "What kind of bet?"
"I bet you get drunk off water."
"...Water?" Yuri blinked. "Corporal, do you have any idea how silly that sounds? Who gets drunk off water?"
"I bet you do."
He snorted. "What's your wager?"
"If I win, you dress up as a unicorn... and I get to ride you."
His thick brows shot up. "What kind of wager is that!?"
She shrugged innocently. "Call it my fantasy."
"You fantasize about me dressed as a unicorn?"
"With me riding you," she repeated with absolute seriousness.
"Okay... that's a little scary."
George chimed in, "That is a little scary! And you said my fantasies were disturbing?!"
Muhmep ignored him. "What's wrong, Chief? Scared? It's not like you're actually gonna get drunk, right?" She held her hand out. "Well? Bet?"
Yuri sighed, rolling his eyes. "Fine. It's a bet. But if I win?"
She smirked. "Name your wager, Chief."
He tapped his lips thoughtfully. "Alright. If I win, you'll be my maid for the rest of this trip."
"Hm... be your maid for the next four and a half years?" She held out her hand— "De—"
"Ah!" he cut in. "And you have to dress as a French maid." He smirked victoriously.
"I have to dress as a French maid?" Muhmep tapped her finger on her chin as she considered it.
"What? Second thoughts?" he teased.
Lilith appeared suddenly, arms folded. "Chief, I don't think this is a good idea."
"Oh hush, Lilith," Yuri waved her off. "I know what I'm doing."
"Do you?" Lilith asked pointedly, looking at George.
George just snickered and placed a finger over his lips.
Lilith shook her head and vanished.
Yuri ignored her and looked back at Muhmep. "So? Are you backing out, Corporal?"
"Heck no! Deal!" She thrust her hand out.
He shook it. "Good. First thing you'll clean after I win will be my whites. See if you can get the sweat stains out."
"And the streaks out of your tighty-whities?" She arched a brow. "No problem. But you're not winning this one, Chief." She held out a hand toward George. "Phone. Now!" She demanded, fingers wiggling.
George chuckled and handed it over.
Yuri frowned. "You're in cahoots with her, George?!"
"In a way," George admitted. "But I don't fantasize about her riding you dressed as a unicorn. I'm just here as a witness."
