Chaos in the Tea House

Chapter 9

Huiyin sits in the main house, waiting for them to return home. That is when she begins to smell a strong metallic scent, causing her eyes to shoot open. She runs to the front door, slamming it open. Nikita helps Heisuke walk and freezes when the door opens. Huiyin's jaw drops and she rushes over to them, quickly pulling Heisuke into her arms.

"What did you do?!" She shouts at Nikita, holding Heisuke close to her. She looks down, seeing all of the blood covering Heisuke. She glares up at Nikita and says

"You should wait in your room. So, I can speak to you." Before he can get a word in she leaves with Heisuke, taking him into the house.

Nikita sighs shakily and sits on the porch, his eyes tearing up. He bows his head and begins to sob quietly, folding in on himself. Naomi wakes up in the middle of the night, walking around the house. She hears soft sobbing and makes her way towards the source of the noise, only to see Nikita.

"Hey? Are you alright?" She asks and walks over, gently tapping his back. Nikita looks over at her with tears rolling down his cheeks.

"Huh? I'm fine. Just go I'm fine." He says and starts to wipe away his tears. Naomi sits next to him and notices the blood on his clothes, asking

"Are you alright? What happened?" Nikita looks down at his clothes and says

"I'm fine, this blood... it's dad's. Mom is taking care of him now. He should be okay. I on the other hand. I should go. I don't think it would be good if I-..." before he can continue saying anything, someone behind them clears their throat.

Huiyin looks at them and focuses a glare on Nikita, saying

"You are not going anywhere Nikita. You are going to tell me what you did, and what happened to your father." Nikita sighs and says

"Fine, I don't have a problem telling you. One of my men told me about a situation that was happening not far from here. I took dad with me because why not. Things got a little to heated. Dad beat the shit out of the guy, you should've seen him! He was punching him so much his hand was literally a blur. An in the end all that guy could do was scratch his arm." Huiyin opens her fan and replies

"Yeah, but that man had poison on his fingernails. You are lucky that I am familiar with the kind of toxin that was used. The dosage wouldn't have been fatal enough to kill Heisuke, but it could have left him paralyzed if you guys didn't return when you did." Nikita looks up at Huiyin and says

"You know what. I'm out of here. Dad should've been able to take care of himself. He is way older than me, but I get yelled at because he was playing around too much. That's stupid." He storms off, leaving Naomi and Huiyin alone on the porch. Huiyin shakes her head looking over at Naomi.

"I'm going to go care for your father. I think you should just let Nikita have his temper tantrum. He will come back... maybe?" She mutters and returns to her room. Naomi sighs, walking around the courtyard. She sits on the bench by the koi pond. She closes her eyes and her ears perk up; when she hears someone walking behind her.

"Nao, it's late come to bed." Takahashi whines, rubbing his eyes. Naomi let's out an exasperated laugh and walks over to him, asking

"Why didn't you just go to sleep?" Takahashi looks away awkwardly, a faint blush dusting across his cheeks.

"Uhm... I dunno. It's hard to sleep without you in my bed. I know it sounds weird, but I feel safer having you by my side."
