A UNDISCLOSED AMOUNT OF TIME IN THE PAST

{Y/N}'s POV

There were a bunch of the "Bad Men" as Eleven would call it, in my house.. They were only there because early on before we had decided that El would stay with Mike, she had stayed in the shack in my backyard..

"{Y/N}, you have to promise that you will tell us if she contacts you or your parents? Okay?" A woman with brunette hair said to me.

My let was bouncing upside down, a habit I had gained these past few weeks due to stress,

"I don't understand, why is she so dangerous?" I said, acting dumbfounded.

"Please just promise to us, no questions needed." The lady continued.

"I promise."

"Alright, good (not gender neutral)."She pat my shoulder.

"W-.." I started to speak but then she walked away.

I just sat there, visibly upset. My hands holding each other in my lap. They left after a few hours, and when they did I walked upstairs to my room, I sat on my bed and laid down. I silently cried myself to sleep.

PRESENT TIME
1984

"{Y/N}! Come get your costume on!" My father yelled from the living room.

I shot up, "Shit, shit. YEAH! Just a minute Father!" I yelled.
I slid downstairs. "Did I oversleep?" I said quickly getting my costume on, I was the ghost. And the rest of the party were The Ghostbusters

"No, you didn't." My dad said, before handing me my costume.

My costume was pretty simple, since we didn't have the budget or the creativity for anything too big. It was a dark green turtleneck sweater and some brown pants.

"It's not much, but I like it." I smiled at my parents.

I put on my sneakers and tied them, I walked outside to see the boys waiting for me.

"Hey! Woah, your costumes are sick!" I waved to them as I grabbed my bike and walked over.

"Thanks, yours too." Dustin smiled.

"You don't have to say that y'know, it's just a sweater and pants." I got on my bike as we started riding our bikes.

"I know, but I still like it." Dustin smiled at me.

"I can't wait to go trick-or-treating!" Lucas said, trying to keep up with us.

"Yeah! I'm gonna pass out when I get home from all the candy!" I laughed.

"Me too!" Mike exclaimed, also laughing.

We started humming the ghostbusters theme song as we arrived to school.
