The following morning they were at Hoppers cabin and y/n sat with El in her room. El was using her powers to try and find Billy, Heather, her parents and Mrs Driscoll.

Since it would be difficult, El needed a quieter space and went into another room. They thought it was best someone was with El in case something went wrong and El wanted y/n too. So y/n sat silently beside El while everyone else was out in the living room.

Nancy was on the phone, trying to see if there had been any reports on weird stuff happening that could be connected to the mind flayer while Lucas, Will and Jonathan searched in the phone book to see who they could call.

Max and Mike had fell into an argument about 10 minutes ago when y/n first left the room.

It started when Mike blamed Max saying she had 'corrupted' y/n and that's why she hadn't forgiven him yet.

"I haven't said anything to her, Mike! Y/n is her own person and she doesn't need me controlling her like you do." Max argued.

"That is such bullshit!" Mike exclaimed.

"It's not bullshit, Mike." Max said. "She's not gonna forgive you if you keep acting this way."

"Will you keep it down?" Nancy asked as she took the phone away from her ear and held her palm against it.

"If he keeps acting what way?" Jonathan asked Max, as we was curious what happened between y/n and Mike so he knew if he had to kill Mike or not.

"Jonathan, this is not the time for you to play protective older brother, okay?" Nancy said quickly. "Whatever it is they'd be able to sort it out themselves. None of us need to interfere."

Mike scoffed. "You should tell that to Max. She's corrupting y/n." He said.

"No, enlightening her." Max said "The fact, is she's not yours."

Little did all of them though that y/n was pressing her ear up against the door and could hear them all talking. But to be fair Max and Mike weren't being exactly quiet.

"Stop acting like you care so much." Max snapped at Mike once again. "It's been days and you haven't fixed anything."

"I do so care about her!" Mike said as if Max said something ridiculous. Which she did.

"Really? You and y/n hadn't talked for days, she could have been dead, or actually flayed given the circumstances like she nearly was last night, but the point is you didn't." Max said.

In the room El and y/n were in, El has taken off her blindfold and saw y/n leaned up against the door.

"Y/n?" She questioned. "I found him."

Y/n turned to face her, but not leaving the door though.

"Are you sure you don't need anymore time?" She asked "Cause it sounds like they are all arguing out there."

"Don't say I don't care about y/n!" Mike said, raising his voice at Max.

"Well you don't show it?" Max continued "How are we supposed to know?

Mike took a deep breath in then let everything out.

"I've tried to protect and be my best around her. Maybe I've screwed up a few times but I don't need you telling me how I feel about y/n, because I love her and don't want to lose her!"

Silence followed. Max and Nancy both widened their eyes at Mike's out burst. Lucas smiled at what Mike said and leaned back, while Will and Jonathan shared a look.
