"Screw the fire- if I don't get to the life support in time everyone is going to die too, not just me!" Alise muttered, rushing to the system's room. They couldn't allow so many lives to be lost, they'd already lost one, and that was too much to them.

"Warning. No atmosphere detected within life support"

They entered the room without a second thought, stumbling a bit as they found it harder to breathe.

"Warning. Oxygen dropping down to unsafe levels"

"I c-can tell..." they hissed, trying to hold their breath and understand what they were meant to do. At the bottom of the room there were three cranks labelled 'O2 backup', they rushed over, and began turning them all the way.

Come on come on-

Finally, all three cranks had been turned, and the light came back on into the room. The Captain finally felt like they could freely breathe again, so they sighed in relief.

"Oxygen levels rising. Good news, Captain. The momentary lapse in oxygen extinguished the fire on the bridge"

Alise widened their eyes. That might've been the luckiest thing ever- but they were glad that happened! One thing less to worry about. But just as they were about to relax-

"Warning. Brace for impact"

"Wh-"

In less than a second, the ship shook again and more alarms went off.

"Alert. Hull breach detected. Asteroid defense system is offline"

"Oh you gotta be SHITTING me!" they shouted, rushing out of the life support room and down the hallway. Why was every system offline?! Everyone told them things were running smoothly- how did things get so bad now?!

"Disregard previous statement, Captain. Asteroid defense system is working at 100% efficiency. Any vibrations you're feeling, are simply the guns working to keep you safe"

Alise stopped for a second right in front of the defense system room. What was going on with the computer itself, and why was it giving them such mixed reports- they decided to go into the room anyway, to check if everything was actually running smoothly, but when the door opened, they saw the defense system's laser guns pointing right at them.

"I said the asteroid defense system is... fine. Captain, please make your way to the nearest bunker and have a nap"

Alise backed down and ran out of the way, right before the guns began shooting. This was way beyond some sort of malfunction- this looked like plain sabotage, all the way down to the computer's way of communicating.

"I-I have to fix this somehow- or the ship's gonna get destroyed by asteroids! I-I won't let Mark's ship die..." they muttered, almost in a panic. "M-maybe if I wear a disguise the scanner won't register me as a threat and it won't shoot me... or- or maybe... maybe I should just wake the crew and let them deal with this, they certainly know more than me about this..."
