"Eli what was that?!" Tori said to me.
"She's the one that started all of this Tori." I explained, "If it wasn't for her I wouldn't be in this bed right now."
"Yeah and we wouldn't be talking right now." She crossed her arms.
I just glared at her, hating that she has a point.
"She's a friend, Eli." She looked at me sadly and sat down at down beside me.
"How do you know that? She might just leave when we finally accepted her at a time we least expect."
"She's been here just less than a week ago but a lot already happened yet she's still here and she's willing to offer you a place to stay."
"I don't even need a place to stay!" I said, my hands gripping on the thin white sheet in frustration.
"That's not the point!" She groaned, "Just give her a chance. You know I won't always be here for you."
"I don't." I mumbled annoyingly.
"She said she'll text you her address. Apologize when you have a chance."
"You're not my mom."
"I'm your sister- bestfriend." She added quickly, "I treat you like family."
"Fine." I lied.
"Thank you. I'll skip school altogether, I'm going home." She said as she pick up her phone beside me.
"You're leaving?" I asked sadly.
"I have to do something. I'll visit you tomorrow."
"Okay." I said and sank on the bed.
I closed my eyes and heard the door open and click close.
*
It's been a week since I got out of the hospital.
I kept my distance from Kristy although I can't stay away because she kept sticking to Chloe like glue.
Like Tori asked me to do, I gave Chloe the chance to be close to me but I still had my walls up. She's too good to be true and I know when there are people like that, they have something hiding behind their backs.
It was time to go home and Kristy is still walking with us outside.
"Don't you have friends." I said to her, my eyebrows furrowed.
She removed her hold on Chloe and glared at me. Ever since she said those things to me, I never looked at her the same way again.
"Ran out of holy water to drop on your eyes?" She smirked.
I wanted to wipe it off of her face.
"Yeah and I need a pastor here too, I can sense a demon somewhere, oh wait I found it. You." Her smirk faded and it was my time to smile.
We reached the parking lot.
She turned Chloe, "hey you still up with hanging out?"
Chloe laughed awkwardly, "I kinda have something to do at home..."
"Oh..." Kristy mumbled.
"You heard it, now shoo." I said, waving my hand.
"Eli." Tori scolded me.
"What?" I asked, feigning innocence.
Kristy tsk'd and walked away, I smiled, feeling like a winner.
"You didn't have to say that." Chloe said.
"I know, she's just annoying me." I saw her smirk.
I rolled my eyes, "let's just go home."
We went in our cars and as usual, Gerard opened the door for her.
I started driving, the silence comforting me.
Last week was eventful. Tori and I fought, Kristy, those girls that beat me up, dad...
Dad. He was fun man before mom left, ever since then, he became more quiet, more serious. I never knew why mom left until He mentioned about mom being a "dyke".
Did mom leave us for a woman?
The thought made me feel frustrated. I started asking Tori about these things so I could be used to her talking about Hannah but thinking about my mom made me angry.
I didn't know what to feel.
I pulled up the parking lot and found the lights inside the house were open.
Dad's home.
The smell of alcohol instantly invaded my senses. Covering my nose and mouth with my hand, I went inside.
"Dad? I'm home." I called out but he didn't answer.
I went to the kitchen and my eyes widened.
There, dad sitting at the kitchen floor, with a bottle of alcohol in his hand. His shirt was dirty, his tie uneven, hair looking like it's been in a hurricane.
He looked like a mess.
I rushed towards him, taking the bottle away from him.
"Oh my god dad are you okay??" I asked worriedly.
He grumbled loudly, The smell of alcohol was stronger, almost making me dizzy.
He looked up at me with dark eyes, his stare felt uncomfortably unfamiliar.
I helped him stand up and then in a second, grabbed my wrist and yanked me towards him.
I pushed him away in instinct, his eyes traveling up and down on my body.
"You..." he slurred.
He took a step forward, I took a step back.
This continued until my back met the wall.
I took a gulp, "d-dad..?" I stuttered.
His body towered over me, hooded eyes looking down on me.
His hands caressed my cheeks.
"You look like your mother." A wicked grin was plastered on his face.
My body went cold, I pushed him and started to run to the door.
He stumbled back but chased me still,
"ELISE WAIT I NEED YOU-" he yelled.
I couldn't feel the ends of my toes and fingers as I open the door and fumble with my keys.
I was shaking so hard that I couldn't slide the key in the ignition of my motorcycle.
Come on
"E-ELISE" He yelled as I see him open the door.
I felt cold tears stream down on my cheeks.
"FUCK IT" I yelled and ran to the street.
I looked back and he was still running after me.
I was still shaking but I pulled my phone and went to the contacts, calling Tori.
"Pick up pick up pick up" I said as I look back, dad still running but stumbling due to the alcohol.
"Hello-?"
"H-HELP D-DAD'S CHASE-CHASING ME PLEASE." I said, my voice shaking audibly.
"Where are you!?"
"I-I DONT F-FUCKING KNOW" I yelled, tears clouding my sight.
"Send your location. Now."
