Chapter 39

Elizabeth's P.O.V.

"I can't wait to taste them!" Chlo squealed happily as she ran to the living room and jumped down on the couch.

"Hun, be careful." Carol said, obviously worried.

"She's so childish." I said to Carol to which she just laughed lightly and nodded.

I went to the living room too and plopped down next to Chlo. "What are we watching?" I asked her.

"I dunno." She was laying down on the couch with her feet dangling on the arm rest.

"Where'd Aunt Carol go?" she asked and propped herself up with both her elbows and looked around.

"Probably back outside or in her bedroom." I shrugged.

She laid back down again and inhaled, "It smells so good in here already."

"Wait so she's like a prisoner?" I asked, watching the show playing on Netflix.

"I told you I don't know." She said, hiding a grin.

I lightly smacked her forehead, "you click the show before you watch, dumbass, of course you'd know."

"Just watch, it's good I promise." she smirked, her eyes still glued on the tv.

"I don't trust that look." I said and watched with her.

The blonde girl was inside a room, a tiny one. "Where is she?" I asked Chlo.

"SHU." She said, "Officers put you there when you do something bad inside the prison- although she didn't do anything bad she was just having fun with her fr- I'm gonna stop. Just watch."

"I thought you didn't know this show?"

"Not technically the whole show." she said, "I'm still on this episode.."

The girl was just sitting in uncomfortably looking bed, saying stuff about...Alex? I don't know who the guy is. Probably her boyfriend or something.

The scene ended with orange covering the screen (the color) and a song started playing in the background.

"That's it?" I said, confused and curious at the same time.

We heard the oven's timer go off and Chloe jumped off the couch, "Shouldn't have done that." she said regretfully while holding her head and steadying herself.

I paused the show and went with her to the kitchen.

"It smells so goood." She said and I grabbed the mitts Carol handed me earlier.

"No! let me get them." She tried taking the mitts but I pushed her away.

"I don't want to eat cookies that fell on the ground." I put them on and opened the oven.

It smells delicious.

Chloe bounced in excitement as I put the tray on the kitchen counter.

She tried getting one but I smacked her hand away which resulted in her giving me a pointed look.

"Burn your fingers, be my guest." I said and grabbed a fork from the cabinets.
