Have I expressed how much I hate Tuesdays?
I made sure not to get ready for school in my sleep and actually stand up and do my planned routine, although I felt a little sluggish and a headache made things worse.
Classes start at 8 am. At 6:40 I already have my bag and as I walked dowsntairs I noticed a note on the top back rest of the couch.
I picked it up and money fell on the floor.
Tears stained the paper and I found myself quietly sobbing, the neatly written letters blurring and I couldn't see clearly.
"I noticed you wake up way earlier than us so we never get the chance to give you school money, please eat something nice before you go to class.
P.S. I didn't tell your mom. I hope we get to talk soon.
Alexis"
I slowly fold the paper and put it in my pocket, the 30 dollars on the floor staring back at me.
This is a lot...
Deciding to save some of it up, I drove quickly to Jonathan's.
"You've gotten quite thin Elizabeth." He placed a plate of bacon egg drop on my table with water.
"But I ordered cold black coffee?" I looked up at him and he sat in front of me, his head shaking no.
"No coffee for you. What happened?" He asked, "you look stressed."
"Just school stuff." I waved my hand in dismissal, "It's almost hell week and I'm catching up on things."
"Ah." He laughed, "Well goodluck with that Missy."
"Thanks Jonathan." I smiled, "how's your day?"
"Busy!" He stood up, "A business executive made a huge order, said he liked it here so it's a good opportunity for Scarlett to learn . I just wanted to make sure if you're alright."
"Thanks Jonathan." I smiled at him. I never realized how much he looks out for me.
"Anything to help out Darren's little girl." He patted my shoulders and went back behind the counter, washing plates and cleaning his station.
Dad and Jonathan were good friends, I forgot that's how I ended up coming to his café every now and then.
Class came and go. With my head down on my table it felt like everything was passing by quick.
That one dreaded subject started, I sat down on my seat, Kristy did the same to hers, while Chloe was out of sight.
"Hey have you seen Chloe today?" She asked the moment her ass made contact with the stupid chair.
"No." I turned to her and her eyes widened.
"Lizzy are you okay?" She asked and I nodded, my whole world spinning around me.
I held my head and gulped, "Just- Just give me a second."
My hand held support on my chair and I stood up.
In a second, the Earth pulled my body down to the floor, Kristy's frantic voice sounding like a muffled lullaby.
*
I opened my eyes and found myself in the infirmary.
"Water." I jumped at the voice.
I took the glass and drank, "Thanks Tori."
"Over fatigue and stress." She said, "They said you can stay here until school ends."
"I have to be in class." I sat up, ignoring the nauseous feeling in my stomach, "I'll be fine."
