Chapter seven- My truth And Your Regret

The carriage ride is much to long for Shen Yuans liking. He is sitting right beside Luo Binghe and across from Lao Gongzhu. The inside of the carriage is decorated in gold and silver. The seats are very comfortable as well.

The carriage ride is silent, Shen Yuan is surprised. From what he has heard, Lao Gongzhu talks a lot. Maybe it's because of how intimidating Luo Binghe is. Shen Yuan frowns and leans his head against the side of the carriage. The island is beautiful, if only Shen Yuan could be here under different circumstances.

Different circumstances where he hasn't been kidnapped by Luo Binghe. The famous asshole Luo Binghe.

After a while, the carriage stops.

"We're here," Lao Gongzhu announces, opening the carriage door and stepping out. Luo Binghe steps out next, dragging Shen Yuan with him. Shen Yuan nearly trips, caught by Luo Binghe before he hits the ground.

Shen Yuan doesn't bother thanking him, but looks up at the palace. He had heard tales of how prosperous Lao Gongzhu is, with a city of gold and not a single person considered poor. Some people say his kingdom is one of the most successful. Huanhua controls most trade and has many allies.

Shen Yuan remembers being surprised when Lao Gongzhu offered his daughter as a suitor. Once she was rejected he then offered his daughters childhood best friend and his head disciple, and he was also rejected.

Before he could throw anymore suitors at Shen Yuan, Shen Jiu blocked any letters from Huanhua that had to do with Shen Yuan and suitors.

The reason Shen Yuan was surprised about the proposals were because he has heard that Lao Gongzhu and Shen Jiu have a history, and not a good one. From what Shang Qinghua has told him, Lao Gongzhu and Shen Jiu were arranged to be married!!

However, Lao Gongzhu was never interested in Shen Jiu and Shen Jiu was already in love but actively avoiding Yue Qingyuan at the time. To make a long story short, Shen Jiu ran away with Yue Qingyuan and left Lao Gongzhu at the alter. It was all forgiven by the public since it wasn't illegal and now Cang Qiong would have a possibility of an heir.

He thought that Lao Gongzhu would still be upset, but it turns out he got married two days later with a princess, had a kid, then she divorced him.

Good times...even though Shen Yuan wasn't even alive.

Anyways, he got off topic. Huanhua palace was far more magnificent than he had ever expected. It looked like it was made of marble and gold, and it had stained glass windows. Most of the beautiful windows (that he could see) were of the same woman. She wore golden robes and had long brown hair tied into a ponytail.

Shen Yuan doesn't have even a second more to marvel at the gorgeous palace before he is tugged forward and forced to follow them into the palace. He hopes he at least has a nice room. As he walks to the front of the palace, there are people gathered on the sides of the walk way, cheering at Luo Binghe return.

They were held back by guards. Now isn't this the scandal? Huanhua, the prestigious city, is on friendly relations with demons? Shen Yuan would laugh if he wasn't so terrified.

As he walks up the steps to the huge palace front doors, he spots an all too familiar face; Shang Qinghua. He is just standing freely next to Mobei-Jun! What the hell?!

Shang Qinghua sees him, as well as his pissed off expression.

"..."

"...Dont be mad-!" Shang Qinghua starts, but cuts himself off and hides behind Mobei-Jun when Shen Yuan send Shang Qinghua a glare. It is times like these when he resembles his father, Shen Jiu, most.
