Liu Mei watches the ship cut through the water below her. She stands at the bow of the ship in the early hours of the morning. She hasn't a clue as to where they are going now, Sha Jiao never told her a thing.

"Jiejie, you shouldn't be out this early. You'll catch a cold." A familiar voice said from behind her.

Sha Jiao.

Liu Mei rolls her eyes, not even bothering to look at the demoness. She just keeps her eyes on the sea.

As always, ignoring the demoness is futile. She hears running footsteps. Before she knows it, someone had jumped onto her back.

"What are you doing-?"

"Jiejie you shouldn't treat your savior like this~" Sha Jiao purred in her ear. Liu Mei was tempted to punch the woman in the face.

Liu Mei instead composed herself and spoke in a flat voice; "What do you want?"

"I want to see under your veil!" Sha Jiao answered, her voice sounding whiny. Liu Mei can feel her patience thinning.

"You're a grown woman, act like one." Liu Mei huffs, then she gets an idea. "I may or may not show you if you tell me where we are going."

Sha Jiao's eyes brighten and she sits up.

"We are going to go get a map from an ancient island named xɪᴜ˥Ǝ" Sha Jiao announces, her hands on her hips. She looks so proud for some reason.

"Why?"

"You see, there is-,"

"Damn it, the rest of the page is ripped. And that one word is... really messed up. I wonder if she meant to spell it that way." Shen Yuan grumbles, squinting his eyes at the word of the page.

"Don't worry A-Yuan, just go to the next page." Luo Binghe says. Shen Yuan doesn't acknowledge the overly friendly way Luo Binghe said his name and turns the page.

As of right now, they are both lounging on Shen Yuans bed and reading a book. They are at sea right now, but Shen Yuan and Luo Binghe were both incredibly bored.

Shen Yuan hopes he isn't developing stalkholm syndrome, that would be annoying.

The next page of the book is just the beginning of next chapter.

"Should we read further or wait to start another chapter?" Shen Yuan asks, rubbing his eye. They've been together for the last few hours and he's tired.

"I should probably check to make sure the morons who call themselves my crew mates haven't messed anything up." Luo Binghe answers, starting to get up.

Normally, Shen Yuan would be happy to see Luo Binghe go. Hell, he would even escort him out himself saying "don't let the door hit you on the way out!"

However, he can't help but feel upset now. Maybe being lonely and bored has gotten to him and he's losing his mind. Honestly, who would want to spend more time with Luo Binghe?

That's the reason why Shen Yuan decided to go with Luo Binghe to monitor the ship.

That's the only reason why! Boredom and insanity!

The halls of the ship are surprisingly clean compared to the last time he saw it. Shen Yuan would be a liar if he said the ship was still uncomfortable.

But Shen Yuan is a liar, rarely to others and mostly to himself.

They get to the top deck and the second the door opens the smell of the salty air hits him. He has grown used to it.
