Chapter ten- Books And Binghe

It's been 2 days since the books were dropped off, and it turns out it was Luo Binghe who brought them. It must've been Shang Qinghua who told Luo Binghe about his love for reading.

'Maybe he really does want to make amends.' Shen Yuan thinks, flipping the page to one of his favorite books. This book really could never get old!

Its your typical cliche romance, but with a twist. Girl meets boy, boy turns out to be the villain, and they fall in love against all odds. He really appreciates the writing, okay? Sue him!

Of course, there's more to it than that. He just doesn't know how to summarize it for now. He is almost at the end, already eyeing the next book on his stack.

Then, the doors open. Its probably a crew member delivering his food. Despite Luo Binghe wanting to make amends, he still keeps Shen Yuan trapped in this stupid room!!

Shen Yuan closes his book and looks up. It's not a crew member, it's Luo Binghe. Why is he deciding to deliver his food now? It's been two days since they've last seen each other!

"This one was just checking in on his highness." Luo Binghe mumbles, looking away from Shen Yuan as he sets the food on a table by the (now locked) window.

Shen Yuan huffs and turns away, crossing his arms. Luo Binghe frowns.

"Why is his highness upset now?" Luo Binghe asks. Shen Yuan turns around and glares, how could he not know?!

"You've locked me back in here! Why else do you think I'm upset?!" Shen Yuan huffs, has it ever crossed Luo Binghe's mind that locking someone in a room may not be the best way to make amends??

"Locked you in? The door hasn't been locked, you've had free roam of the ship since I brought you back..." Luo Binghe informs.

"..."

"..."

'Oh,' Is all Shen Yuan can think. Why did he never try to open the door?! He feels like an idiot now.

Shen Yuan coughs twice and turns around in embarrassment.

"Sorry about that, I didn't know." Shen Yuan apologizes.

"Don't apologize! I don't blame you for assuming." Luo Binghe replies. Shen Yuan is still shocked, is this really the same Luo Binghe from a few days ago? It doesn't seem like it, considering the one from a few days ago couldn't have been bothered by Shen Yuan.

"Anyways, thank you for the food." Shen Yuan thanks, standing up and walking to the table where the plate is. It's congee, and it smells absolutely heavenly. If only Luo Binghe wasn't a pirate lord, Shen Yuan could make him the head chef in the kitchen!

"No problem, cooking is a hobby of mine." Luo Binghe nods. Shen Yuan takes a bite of the congee, expecting Luo Binghe to leave... but he doesn't. He just watches Shen Yuan eat.

Shen Yuan awkwardly clears his throat.

"Did you... need anything else?" Shen Yuan asks, he doesn't exactly want to be observed while he's eating!!

"I thought we could read together, I brought a book you haven't read before." Luo Binghe answers, pulling a big book out of his robes.

'What.' Shen Yuan thinks, looking at the book. It has a brown leather cover, certainly one he doesn't recognize. He's never heard of this book. In gold, the title 'Finding us' is engraved.

"What- how?" Shen Yuan starts to ask, but doesn't know the correct questions to ask in this situation. His captor, savior, and first friend wants to... read with him?

"I found this buried on an island once, its embroidered with real gold. It seems it's one of the last works written by Liu Su Mian Hua before they disappeared. It's finished but unpublished." Luo Binghe informs, opening the book to show the inside of the cover. Sure enough, the famous signature is there.
