Day 20 as a substitute prince
It has already been twenty days. It feels like two.
In exactly ten days, my replacement will be back to whisk the woman of my dreams away. But I will not focus on that just yet, as I am still unsure of how much Zadkiel knows of Heather and her plan to assassinate him, or me, rather.
So far, her efforts had failed, but surely injured me. My left arm is broken, and the doctor believes my ankle might be sprained. If I am to be honest, I dare say that I am indeed afraid.
Once she learns I am still alive she will be back, and maybe there will be nothing I can do to stop her. They have been looking for her ever since three days ago when she pushed me down a staircase. I don’t think I will ever live that memory down.
I wish to see my sister soon too. But I do not know how to request her without suspicion being drawn to myself. These twenty days have been rather stressful. From finding love to escaping a murderous woman.
If I live to record my last entry at the end of the month, I only hope it will be far better. Yet again, how better will it be, when it will be the last day I get to have Aria as mine?
We will just have to see.
Signed,
Chad.

Chad sighed deeply as he signed his name under his new entry. He decided not to make a sketch this time, simply because he didn’t know what to draw. His broken arm? The staircase?
He didn’t want to spend so much time making something so cold either. He quickly tucked the book away and rested his head against his headrest.
He was moved from the infirmary to his new room this morning, with all his things already waiting. When he didn’t find his journal, he asked a maid to fetch it for him from the last place he remembered hiding it.
Luckily, she respected his privacy and didn’t even look too hard on the outside as she brought it all the way to his new room.
So, as far as everyone still knew, he was still a prince.
Sighing, Chad grabbed onto his wooden crutch and wobbled from bed.
Since he got here he has been on bed arrest two times already, and he didn’t like it. He didn’t like being condemned to his room because he couldn’t get around much. The only thing he liked was Aria’s visits now and then to keep his company or bring him food.
However, he told her earlier that he was going to resume going about as he used to. He could go down for his meals and so on. He simply couldn’t stay in bed for the next ten days he’s here.
Besides, what if Heather finds him again? This time alone…
Shaking the thought from his head, Chad hopped over to the balcony doors and pushed it open. Immediately the cool night air welcomed him and calmed his every nerve. Unlike his former room, the view of the city wasn’t as evident from this balcony. But the ocean was. It was all just as beautiful.
