Aria was fully adorned in a red and white ruffled dress that hung from her shoulder and hugged her waist like a glove.
It was gorgeous, but it wasn’t even close to the dress her mother had got her for her birthday ball later. Aria wasn’t really the person who normally gets excited for such things, but the only reason why she wanted the day to pass was so that she could wear that dress.
In due time.
The first thing Aria wanted to do was to find her prince.
After much debate with her mother about the importance of breakfast, Aria had finally won and got her way. Sylvia agreed to let Aria see the prince first, and then have breakfast for the two brought up to his room, where they could eat together.
Aria had a pep in her step as she made her way to his room. She was even more eager now, knowing that she could confess her feelings to him over breakfast on his balcony, on such an important day like this.
It was perfect.
With a single knock, she didn’t even wait for him to answer before pushing through, and when she did, he was laying in his bed, scribbling something in a journal.
He met her gaze across the room the minute he heard the door open, and his face immediately broke out in a huge smile.
He tucked the journal under his pillow and wobbled from bed to greet her. He was already fully dressed and his hair was combed to perfection.
“Easy there,” Aria said with a chuckle when he stumbled a bit, but he didn’t even care. He was just happy to see her.
He didn’t even wait a second, but the minute he was in front of her, he pulled her against his chest in a hug.
“Happy birthday my princess,” he mumbled in the crook of her neck before she pulled away.
Aria eyed him in shock for a while, but the smile never fell from her face. “You knew?”
“Of course.” He chuckled. “You told me a few weeks ago. Don’t think I would’ve forgotten, right?”
“I didn’t have a single doubt,” she said with a small giggle. This was exactly why she knew her feelings were true.
It were the little things like this that had her heart calling out for him. Memories of last night came back to her.
The way he made her body feel--it was marvelous.
It wasn’t his hands on her, but it was his influence that made her feel that way. A sudden wave of desire ran through her for a second, causing her to shiver a bit. But she quickly collected herself.
“You look absolutely breathtaking,” Chad whispered, taking her hand in his and placing a small kiss to it.
“I will never get sick of hearing you say that,” Aria mumbled with yet another blush climbing her cheek.
Chad smiled as his heart clenched a little, knowing he only had a few more days to tell her. But he knew he’d spend each day letting her know this simple fact.
“So I will never stop.”
Without a second thought, Aria pulled him into a hug again. This time she poured her heart and soul out in a simple, silent gesture.
Chad thought he understood, and he didn’t hesitate to do the same.
“Oh, I can come back?” A voice said from behind them, driving them apart quicker than lightning.
