You will always find me there,
Tucked comfortably with the thoughts inside my head.
Engrossed with words I wrote and read,
And the beauty that with me you shared.
Some say that I have lost my mind,
Stuck in the past, the world left me behind.
But it took so long for me to find,
You, my favourite song, so I keep hitting rewind.
No good comes from living in the past you say,
But I remember it as clear as today,
Your gentle love, just took away...
Everything in me (I wasn't even aware) that ached.
You brought with you a love I thought had ceased to exist,
You didn't even try, and I never bothered to resist.
But every great story needs an earth-shattering twist,
I tried so hard to hold on, but like sand, you slipped from my fist.
Then I am jolted back to reality,
By whispers and screams that call me crazy,
They say you are gone, so how can I see...
You right here, in front of me.
We talk, and laugh and argue like —
Before they stole you, you are once again mine.
So I stay in my thoughts, with you all the time...
And they seem to think I've lost my mind.
