KEY: Your POV, Wesker's POV

I woke up in a cold sweat, flinging myself upwards. I gripped my chest tightly feeling my heart racing. I looked around to see my normal bedroom. 'I'm safe,' I rationalized. I had just come from a nightmare of the night at the mansion. It has been weeks since that night & it still haunts me. Since that night I was temporarily discharged from my team, & I'm being forced to get psychiatric help. I thought it would work, but it seems to make it worse.

"How does that make you feel?" The female voice echoed.

I hung my head. I felt my chest get heavy & my eyes stung from tears. He haunted me. I see his shadow in the corner of my eyes sometimes. He killed my whole team in front of me like it was some game. He smiled at my fear. How could someone do such a thing? I got out of bed knowing I should probably get some food in me. I walked into the kitchen & began making myself a sandwich. I felt like I was being watched. I turned to see nothing... but the curtains were flowing a little. I rushed to them & opened them, seeing the windows weren't open. The ac wasn't on, my door was closed. There was no airflow. I let the sun come into my house. I turned to see the man in the corner. He was leaning against the wall in a black shirt & gray pants. His eyes were trained on me. I jumped back & hit the window.

"What is it about you?" he asked softly.

I was frozen in fear as he stepped toward me. I let him do as he pleased, hoping it would make him spare me. He grabbed me by the chin & turned my head to the side.

"Yes. Human. Yet so captivating," he murmured, thinking aloud.

He let me go lightly. He just stared down at me, I lowered my eyes. He turned on his heel & walked into my kitchen. I couldn't tell what he was doing, I contemplated running. Leaving my house & never coming back.

"Sit, it'll only be a moment," he spoke softly.

There goes that. I sat quickly on the couch. I heard the sound of metal utensils being moved around. He turned once more & walked back to me. He handed me a plate with a sandwich on it. He sat across from me on a chair.

"I'm sorry for hurting you," he spoke monotonously.

That seemed half-hearted, if at all genuine. He had a sandwich of his own resting in the grip of his right hand. He leaned forward a little.

"I hope I didn't cause any lasting harm."

I held my tongue. I thought any wrong move would get me killed. I finished my sandwich & stood to put my plate in the sink.

"No, allow me."

"Oh, thank you," I replied softly.

"You know I can tell you are unsettled," he spoke as he made his way to the kitchen, "if you'd like to say anything you can. I won't harm you."

"You... you almost killed me. You killed my whole team. I constantly get nightmares from that night, why do you think I even want to see your face," I blurted out.

The man paused, facing me. For a moment I feared I had said too much. I expected to die right there.

"I'm sure William can help you with your nightmares. As for the almost killing you bit, I thought you were another waste of air like your team."

"Waste of air?! You saw them for maybe five minutes!"

"You know, humans that don't deserve to live. Every day humans get one step closer to extinction. Well, most humans that is. There are a select few that are above the rest, like you & I."

"What makes us so special?"

"We were born with potential & drive, the chance to be gods among men."

I gulped & nodded, this man is crazy. His brow furrowed & he made his way back to me. He sat beside me, I was visibly uncomfortable.

"I want to work with you," he looked deep into my soul.

"I-I do not wish to do that."

"I can promise you, Y/N. You do not want to work against me."

His voice was perfect for threats. It was a low voice masked by vocal fry. His threat shook my body as it escaped his mouth. He looked me up & down.

"What do you choose?"

A moment of silence sat over us. I know what I want but it's not what he wants. I have to stand my ground. I cannot live in fear of this man.

"I will not work with you," I spoke confidently.

The man let out a low groan & rubbed his eyes.

"Fine, if that is what you wish. We shall be enemies."

I backed away from him, holding my fists up to defend myself just in case. He smirked as he stood. The man rose his head to match my gaze.

"Trust me, you won't win. Maybe train for a while," he boasted while walking to the door. He opened the door, paused, & turned to me once more, "Oh, don't go back to Raccoon City."

"Why?!"

He walked out the door. I ran to the front & looked around, he was gone. Why should I stay out of Raccoon City? What if he plans to hurt more people there? I have to protect them. I pulled out my phone & called the chief. I demanded for my position back, he caved & said yes. I packed my bag & hopped in my car. I gripped the wheel tightly thinking about the mysterious man. Why me? I have to use his info to protect the people he plans to hurt. I will protect them. I will destroy him.
