"I love you, Awana," was the first thing she heard from a deep voice and she felt warmth encircle her. There had been an exciting if difficult passage, but it led to this bright, loud confusing place. The voice of her father, for she recognized it, was a comfort.
She turned her head and found he lacked the thing Awana wanted. "Sorry, Awana, I don't have that equipment. Let me get you to someone who does." There was way too long an exchange of words then. "She's busy telling everyone about her promotion, Awana. You'll have to make do with me a little longer."
There was cooing and petting that was nice for a few more seconds, then she was transferred to a different warm chest. This one had the abundance she was looking for and she was happy.
