95. Good Old Days

AUTHOR'S POV:

"I believe it's time for you to go home and talk with Mikasa." Founder Eren said, standing next to Eren in the Paths.

"Yeah..." Eren said and looked down.

"Why don't you surprise Mikasa tomorrow?" Founder Eren asked.

Eren looked up at him, confused. "Huh? What are you talking about?"

"You'll soon get it." Founder Eren said and turned around.

"What?" Eren asked but Founder Eren sent him back to the real world.

Eren let out a sigh as he returned to the shore.

He closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

Then he stood up and walked towards his horse. 'Mikasa must be worried about me...'

He mounted his horse and started riding towards his home.

'What surprise?' Eren wondered. 'Tomorrow isn't her birthday.' He sighed. 'May be, I will get it soon...'

After keeping his horse in the stable, Eren started walking towards his home.

After the battle of Heaven and Earth, the scouts who fought against Eren were given their own houses as a thank you gift by Historia.

Eren and Mikasa were given one too in which they started living together.

Faye and Armin's house was in front of Eren's.

Once Eren stopped before his house, he saw light emitting from the gaps of the door.

'Shit... She is awake...' Eren thought and slowly opened the door.

Mikasa, who was sitting on their bed, turned her head towards the door and gasped slightly. "Ereh?" She stood up.

Eren slowly closed the door behind him and stood there.

Mikasa left their bed room and approached Eren.

Once before Eren, she wrapped her arms around him.

Eren hugged her back.

They stayed like that for some moments, in silence.

Mikasa looked up at him from his chest. "Eren? Where have you been? Faye was worrying about you."

"I was at the ocean, Mika." Eren said. "More likely at the paths."

"Paths?" Mikasa asked, curious.

"Yeah. Just had a small talk with Founder Eren about this universe stuff." Eren said and looked away. "Mika... I'm sorry for what I did to my Mom..."

Mikasa pulled away from the hug and caressed his cheeks. "Don't apologise Eren. It's not something you could have prevented. So, don't be hard on yourself."

Eren looked at her and nodded. "How is Faye now?"

"She was ok and has forgiven you." Mikasa replied.

"Really?" Eren asked.

Mikasa smiled. "Yeah Eren. She understood your reasoning. So, don't worry." She grabbed Eren's hand and brought him towards their bedroom. "It's getting late."

Eren nodded and followed her.

Once on their room, Mikasa sat down on the bed and gestured Eren to sit beside her.

Eren smiled and sat down beside her. Then Mikasa quickly side hugged him and put her head on his shoulder.

Eren hugged her back and put his head on her's.
