"Phew it was just a dream" shoyu thought thought to himself as he slowly opened his eyes to the blurry surroundings, his room being neat and tidy as always. He looked at the timer blankly and calmly got off his bed. He had three full hours left before his first day at the academy so he calmly walked to the bathroom on the right hand side of his bedroom and brushed his teeth while looking into the mirror coldly, thinking about how school in the real world would be for him, how he would avoid people, he was always homeschooled and had never experienced it before, he was introverted and loved nothing but the piano. He never really had comfort, love or friendship, in fact he never knew at all what it felt like, it was just music keeping him company and he spent most of his life like that, alone.

After he walked out the rest room dragging his feet across the wooden floorboards. He carefully touched the paintings and and music awards from talent shows hed participated thinking back to those times. Even then, he always made sure his face was hidden, but now starting at a new school meant that he would have to step out of this comfort zone, these thoughts pestered him as he zoned out staring at all of them hung up and placed carefully across the polished shelves, he then realised how alone he really was in this world, how he had no one to trust, his father went missing years ago while on an expedition to Brazil, he didn't even remember how he looked, while his mother was always on business trips and making it up to him by getting him gifts. Thinking about all this he didn't even feel sad or shed a tear, he was used to it by now, all he could do was play the piano, until he died, you see, shoyu had a terrible condition. Many doctors said he had little time left to live but even then he was blank and seemed to not care, he could only play it, the piano, till his worries went away, play it because its the only thing he knew, and that's what he did, longing for someone to play music with him, longing for someone but all he did was play the piano, coldly and expressionless.

Two hours went by so quickly and shoyu finally got up from the stool, his legs numb. He walked into the kitchen to make himself pancakes and as soon as he finished, he put on his uniform, brushed his dark brown hair, put on his thin framed black glasses, adjusted his backpack on to his shoulder, put on his headphones and silently walked out the house, making sure to lock all the house doors, "will this be a new start?" "Maybe not" he thought to himself as he put on his playlist and made his way to the acedamy
