The room was filled with darkness. There was no sign of any hope, as it just served as a memento of thousands of souls who had been interrogated and tortured in this fire of hell.
"So, Mr.Vedant aka The Phoenix Fighter. Am I saying it correctly?" The officer who had arrested Vedant a few moments ago asked as he sat in the chair in front of him.
"Yes, that's right. May I ask why-" Vedant started to talk but the officer's sudden words stopped him.
"NO QUESTIONS!" the officer shouted. "Here, only I ask and you answer! Is that understood?!"Vedant just nodded in agreement as the officer's stern look gave him mixed feelings. Moments ago, he was with his friends about to attend a class, but then some government agency officials came and pulled him to this hidden facility at Turbhe that no one has any idea of.
He felt a sudden urge to smash that person's face against the wall and show him who the real authority was, but he somehow suppressed it and looked away. 'Calm down Vedant... Calm down...' he told himself.
"You are charged with 2 murders - Aditya Swami, age 15 from Alibag, and Amruta Gaikwad, age 16 from Vashi. Do you accept it or not?" the person interrogated.
"I... I need to speak with my lawyer..." Vedant stuttered as the sudden mention of Aditya and Amruta brought back haunting memories to his mind. "I'll record my sentence after I go out and talk to my lawyer."
"Who said anything about you getting out of here so soon?" the official smirked as he slammed Vedant's head on the desk in front of him. But astonishingly, the desk broke into 2 halves and Vedant didn't even have any scratch. The official didn't react as if he was expecting this. "So it is indeed true then..."
"What??!" Vedant asked in a loud tone as the official's actions had clearly pissed him off.
"How dare you talk to me like that you filthy bastard?!" The official put his gun to Vedant's head as he took it to his ego. "I know even this won't kill you. But I know it will hurt you enough that you'll admit to all your crimes.""Even the bullet won't hurt me, I'm sure of that," Vedant roared back as he broke the handcuffs and held the gun aimed at his head. He tightened his grip and the gun started to melt down. It became so hot that the official let it go of his hand.
"I'm not the bad guy, sir. The bad guy is someone else..." Vedant said as the molten metal fell to the floor. But that's when they both noticed something strange.
"What the-" Vedant gasped as his gaze went to a small chunk of solid metal standing firm in contrast to the pool of molten metal of the revolver around it. It was of the size of a pea, but it fascinated Vedant, who picked it up and examined it closely.
"Where did you get this?" he asked the official who was still trying to figure out what had happened.
"I will not tell you... You monster!" he said as he ran to the exit and locked it from outside.'VEDANT!'
Vedant glanced back to see who had called him but there was no one. 'Are you in my head again?' he thought as he followed the trail towards the door.
'Of course, but where are you?'
'I don't know, somewhere in Turbhe. I think I scared that official. I don't know what the government wants from me, to be honest. Don't worry, we'll figure a way out of this' Vedant smiled as he finally got his hands over the door knob. Locked.Vedant relaxed his shoulders and tried to rotate them again forcefully and Ta-da! It's open!
There were officials, people in army uniform, and some policemen around him. A person with a white kurta approached him all of a sudden. "Vedant beta, let's talk in private," he said with a cunning smile.
