i remember just how much...i loved you
ONE YEAR LATER_
"Is the construction guy coming?" I groaned, spinning around in my office chair as Taeyong threw an orange peel my direction.
"Yes he's coming, please just shut the fuck up-"
The doorbell rang.
"Get the door Winwin" Taeyong yelled.
"Cant you see I'm literally walking there now?" I retorted. When I pulled open the door, I was faced with almost a...child. He had a bright smile and a petite face, hair that sat flat on his head and a brief case that looked a little too big for his small hands.
"You're the construction guy?" I asked, scanning him up and down.
"Yup" He smiled.
"You're like...18?"
"Yup"
"Taeyong..." I turned around to lock eyes with Taeyong. Without any hesitance, Taeyong invited the child in.
"This is Jisung, Park Jisung" Taeyong gestured to him "He's our first member"
"You're recruiting a child?"
"He's more than capable" Taeyong hooked his arm around Jisung. It's been a year since Taeyong had started his own little gang. We hadn't had many members join recently, but anyone could tell Taeyong was working his ass off to make this happen.
"Taeyong, I need to go somewhere" I patted him on the shoulder as I advanced towards the exit of our base.
"Today is the day right" Taeyong sighed. I nodded back in response.
"I'll see you later"
—
I walked along the beach once again, letting the winds hit my face. Today was the day that Sooah was forever gone, and I miss her more than ever. This beach reminded me too much off her—it was the scent of her perfume and the touch of her warm embrace. I held the perfume that I had given her tightly in my palms.
The frothy, blue-green salt water crashes into the setting sun reflected shoreline in waves, then gently rolls up to the increasingly rising tide line. The wave stops as it reaches the tide line and slowly rolls back into the churning ocean water. This relaxing rhythm of continuous lapping waves is music to my ears. Ocean breezes gently sway the palm leaves as another day on the beach comes to a close. Never have I seen a sunset as breathtaking as this. The Sun peeking through the heavy, white clouds illuminates the sky in a dazzling orange glow, causing the fluffy, white sand to appear orange in color as well. All is still and quiet other than the chorus of crashing waves. God's painted masterpiece is a glorious sight to witness.
I placed a small lavender along the sand, placing a rock on top of it.
"Sooah, remember that one time I saved you at the cafeteria? I think that's as the first time I was like 'Wow, she's beautiful'. And that one time at the bar, I acted all heroic and drank your beer for you. You properly looked at me then, and I could've sworn your eyes made me fall even harder. It never occurred to me that you were also going to look at me with love one day, it's still so magical to think about. But now, the sky looks so much more magical now, because you're up there. Ever since you left me, life moved on but somehow, I couldn't. It was so suffocating and I wanted nothing but to just...give up. It never felt the same again, this world, without you. It was as if the loss of a loved one rearranged my entire world without my permission. They all tell me that it's time to heal...and recover, but for me, that's so fucking difficult.
Sooah, you have left me no choice. Now I have to remember you for longer than I have known you. You may be gone, but you have left me with so many sweet and warm memories. But those memorise hurt the most, the happy ones, but nonetheless, happy memories.
I truly did love you Sooah, and your eyes told me that,
you loved me too."
