I remember the way she crumbled under him

"Thank you, that would be all" The principal opposite me tapped his papers meaningless against his table and dismissed me and the three boys that had tried to attack me. Or rather, the three boys I had brutally given blood noses to accidentally.

I exited the office and turned a corner to walk straight into an arm. I stumbled back. It was her, and her dog. The dog barked at me again. I swear it hates me.

"Hi" She piked, grabbing onto my shirt as I completely froze in place "Thank you, back there, for getting them away from me" She spread her lips into a smile again, bowing politely in thanks. I didn't have a chance to reply before she furrowed her eyebrows.

"Have we met before?" She asked

"Uh" I don't know what she considered as met before.

"I vaguely recognise your scent. It's rather faint though. A comfortable smell"

Comfortable.

"Ah right" She snapped herself out of it, holding out her hand "I'm Chu Sooah, you might see me around in the west wing. I'm usually camping there to finish off projects and things. I have retinitis pigmentosa, so yeah, I'm, you know, blind" She sounded uncomfortable saying that "I've been diagnosed for ages so its pretty bad. My vision is like a funnel, a really dark funnel and you're kind of just a blob- I'm sorry, if you can't tell, I like to talk"

I listened to her. I swear I could listen to her talk for days and not get bored. She really had a nice voice. Hesitantly, I took her hand, shaking it lightly.

Her eyes suddenly lit up at the touch of my finger "You're the one my dog bashed into before". The pad of her finger grazed over my knuckles.

"It is you! Why didn't you say so? Don't answer that. You probably just didn't recognise me"

She seemed to enjoy answering her own questions.

"My dog's called Kuri. Golden retriever, if you couldn't tell. I promise I won't let him attack you next time"

She was still holding my hand. I flushed, sliding my fingers from her grip swiftly.

"What's your name?" I could tell she was set on making small talk.

"Winwin" I replied. My voice sounded a bit sandy. I don't know why it did that.

"Winwin..." She clicked her fingers "You've got a unique name. It'll be easy to remember."

I glanced around. People were bustling around us, endorsed in their own conversation as mine and Sooah's mixed in with the rest. The place hung with chatter and busy footsteps; it was all just a rowdy mess of youths in their own parade.

"There will be a second year students meet up later today at the karaoke nearby. You should join us." She invited politely, hair ruffling against the gentle breeze. I didnt especially want to go, but I'm young, I should be going to things like these. Hang-outs, karaokes, meet-ups; that's what people my age do.
