Chapter 20: Listen.

Joan didn't want to believe my words even after seeing the bruises, so I decided to show her the video.. at least I had a little backing .

Joan watched the video wide eyed , her eyes were teary , doubt, disbelief, suspicion and confusion all visible in her expression , the feeling she felt was unexplainable ..

How was it possible that her elder brother would do such a thing (she thought !).

"..." She broke down ..

"Joan this isn't the time to break down ok ...we still have to fight for Jessy's justice !!" Julin said out .

"But ...but ..he's our brother !" Joan said.

"And she is our sister ..our triplet , what is wrong with you Joan!!! ?" Julin was feeling irritated already ..

I just sat on the bed and watched the drama unfold , I didn't want all this but what could I do , Bryan wasn't cooperating .

" There's nothing wrong with me , ...this will divide our family !" Joan included ..

Before Julin could respond a nurse came in and asked them to reduce the noise coming from my room and left ..

"Please listen to me Julin .."

" I really wish we were on the same level of understanding. We can't let Bryan have his way and go unpunished " Julin said .

"But.."

"But nothing Joan!...don't get on my nerves , do you know he tried to rape her again and when she refused ...he ..he beat her to a pulp !" Julin said .

" This is not the Bryan I grew up with " Joan said in disbelief .

"He is now the devil's belonging " Julin uttered .

"Does Ben know about this ?" Joan asked

"Yes he knows and I think it's also the right time to inform mom and dad " Julin said and took out her phone .about to make a call when Joan held her hand ...

" Think this through Julin , he's our brother "

" And Jessy is our sister , I won't keep our parents in the dark , they have the right to know the truth , ...I always knew you to be a strong woman , what happened now , why are you appearing weak ,..we are meant to be Jessy's shield at the moment, we are meant to be the ones fighting for her and not against her .
Joan , you have always been one of my inspirations to be strong and if my inspiration is breaking down at this moment then what do you expect me to do ..huh ?"

"Our parents will break down Julin "

" It's better than being in the dark "
"This is unbelievable" Joan said .

" Then you better open your eyes and see the world through another angle and realise what the world is all about !" Julin uttered without any regard for Joan's feelings .

Julin called Ben and asked him to come to the hospital .

When he arrived, he spoke to the doctors to enquire about my condition . The doctor's words got to him, he couldn't take it anymore , he dashed out of the hospital and went straight to Bryan's home but Bryan was no where to be found .

Ben came back to the hospital with an inspector who questioned me and took my statement .

Julin stood in as my lawyer while Joan stood there in tears at how our family was being broken but I didn't care about all that .

The inspector exchanged contacts with Julin and Ben and then left after telling Julin to make an appeal in the court for a case .

Where ever Bryan was found, he would be arrested on the spot .
