Chapter 5:

The wheelers and the Byers decided to move In tomorrow so he has to go home alone it was getting late anyway... so he let Mike look at Eddie's record and take some, some he didn't but Mike didn't seem surprised (the smiths was his).

Driving home he ends up listening to Eddie's
Kiss cassette which is was named "love gun" interesting...

He listens to the first song immediately immersed...the song was full of energy which wasn't bad he actually liked it a lot more then he thought, it was really romantic though and exciting at the same time...he wonders if Eddie liked this song specifically it was more Steve's speed he assumed but he guessed wrong he presumed...

...he wondered if Eddie ever had sex to this song...kiss was very prerogative and Eddie had handcuffs in his room that definitely weren't for officer use unless roleplay—

his face heats up thinking of that and he immediately retracts his thoughts...

why was he thinking about this?

He turns up the volume trying to ignore his loud ass mind

~~~~~~~~
Once Steve got home he lays all of the remaining records and cassettes on his bed which he had started to fully look at there's so much he was left with...
Mike took most of the harder rock like Iron Maiden, Guns N' Roses, and some band called slayer but Mike left most for Steve he said he would've taken the Black Sabbath cassette too but he wanted Steve to "experience it like Eddie would've wanted"...Steve smiled at that
Who had told him that?
He grabbed his notebook sitting cross legged on his rug and starts to write down in order what he's going to listen to...
He loves writing notes being organized kept him busy ...it was a habit he learned worked after the whole Russian drugged up 1985 shitty timeline...he decided to writing down things more...also journaling but he didn't want to think about that...he decided to go through the cassettes first, he just feels more inclined to listen in his headphones rather then on the record player, it feels more close, more intimate.
Eddie's music:
Cassette order:
Jimi Hendrix (looks groovy)
• Mötley Crüe  (I've heard of them before and Nikki Sixx is kinda hot)
• The smiths (again because it's the smiths)
• Aerosmith
• Poison
• Kiss  (already started)
• Metallica (a bit scared to start)
• Black Sabbath (scared again)
And that was his list so far...
He decides to listen to another one of Eddie's cassettes it's Jimi Hendrix and it says "Are you experienced?" He starts listening as he plasters all the music on his desk instead of on the bed and as he listens further in he begin to acknowledge that he actually likes this, it was rock but the mans voice was soft but also gravely and he loved that...
He takes off his jeans and his yellow sweatshirt and puts on a plain blue shirt he lays down cruising into his sheets as he listens to the soothing and raspy man in his earphones, his voice he feels like Steve is levitating in the air.
He was wonders if Vecna is watching him currently...
if Eddie is watching him too...he wondered if Eddie went to heaven or he was stuck there for eternity...
in the upside for eternity sounded scary...he hopes wherever Eddie is  he was safe and comfortable.
He wished that he was there instead of Dustin...that he maybe might've been able to save Eddie.
'Eddie why did you have to be the goddamn hero this time, you would've been better off running...' he curses Eddie in his head.
But that would mean Dustin would've died...
fuck, he needs to stop thinking, he needs to learn how to turn down this stupid brain of his.
"Jesus Harrington stop spiraling..." he whispers despite knowing no one would hear him besides himself, his parents don't love him enough to be here and his best friends are busy with their own problems (and most are 15).
He wishes it was in Eddie's voice instead of his own meek, slightly crackly voice.
"Jesus Harrington stop spiraling..." he says again but thinks of how Eddie would sound saying it to him, his deep, lazy but springy tone that left Steve questioning every single thing he had thought he knew before he met the man.
He turns up the volume and his thoughts disappeared into the music instead and he is  glad of it, it calmed him so much...the males voice was strong and confident which makes  him feel safe in a way...
~~~~~~~~~

He only snaps back to reality when he hears the sound of the phone ringing and he switches his earphones from his ears to his neck and picked up.

"Harrington residence—"

"Stevie...we're so worried," it's his mother her sickle, frail voice on the other line

"Are you?" He says hesitant

"Well of course..."

"Where's dad?" Steve asks assuming that the man was "out of reach" like usual...

"Your fathers taking a business call hun..."

The world is on its way to end and his father is still too busy to talk to him, seems about right.

"Honey I just wanted you to know that there's room for you in the Dubai, it is safe. We are in your fathers most safe estate...twelve bedrooms and six bathrooms and a panic room below. We have a ten year supply of food and water just in case this armgedens gets us..."

"Why have you never told me about this?"

"It's just in case of emergencies only the rooms are meant for family and f—-" Steve interrupts his mother, "Can my friends come along?"

She's quiet and at first he thinks she hung up but then he hears her sigh as if she's going to rip a bandaid off of his cheek, she explains, "Honey I don't think that's such a good idea I mean it's limited space..."

"Twelve bedrooms is limited space?

"I-I'll think about it...but you're always welcome..."

"Love you mom"

"..." there's a silence and Steve hangs up and turns his music all the way up grabbing Eddie's from his nightstand and staring at it until he got too tired.
