Tails' patience was running thin. Yesterday Amy assigned him and Sonic to go in search of the chaos emeralds. Which he obliged to expecting for it to be a two man mission, but instead he was paired up with a whole troop. Now Tails was forced to be in a group of Mobians that despised him.

By how the resistance seem to urgently want to get their hands on the chaos emeralds, they're pretty slow at doing so. Sonic and him could easily just run off and fetch it. They were pretty fast so it would only take about half the time than staying with the group. Sonic had attempted to explain this to knuckles who rejected his idea. In Knuckles' own words 'Many enforcers are located around here. If you were to encounter one, we all would have to fight it. We must stick together.'

He just kept walking close to Sonic. Tails wanted to stay as far away from the rest as possible. In the back of his mind, he contemplated just running off and getting it himself. Tails pushed the idea away. He needed to earn the trust of his fellow resistance members and.. for selfish reasons.. he wanted to be close to Sonic.

So bregudiendly, Tails followed alongside the group. Still maintaining his distance. The whispering and the dirty looks that were getting on Tails nerves. They were also.. scaring him.. He tried to push that thought away. Kitsunes shouldn't be afraid of petty insults.

Knuckles took notice of the divide between the fox and the rest of the resistance. In a surprising turn of events, Knuckles was actually sticking pretty close to Tails. Yesterday's incident was still fresh in his mind. Multiple questions ran through his mind, but his top priority was helping him through his amnesia. Due to his previous experience, Knuckles knew all too well about not liking the feeling of not being able to remember.

"A monster like him shouldn't be with us." One of the resistance members murmured.

Tails ignored the remark and continued his walk alongside Knuckles. Sonic on the other hand made sure to glare at the mobian who dared speak to his brother that way.

Sonic stopped in his tracks. Knuckles and Tails looked back at him a bit confused as to why he stopped. Quickly realizing the eyes on him, Sonic picked up his pace once again. Even while walking his mind wandered to what he thought. Brother. He took a small glance to the fox who just stayed close to him avoiding the looks of the rest of the group. Sonic lifted his arm to give Tails a small side hug. Tails paid no mind and continued to walk, pleased with the extra comfort he just received. Sonic smiled.

Yeah. Brother suits him quite well.

Each other's comfort didn't last too long as an eerie sound of gears turning had reached everyone's ear. They were all frozen in place. Knuckles motioned to the group to stay back while he peered ahead.

They all waited for Knuckles' signal. All hoping it was a regular Patrol bot. (No one needed anymore losses from Enforcers.) Their hope was shattered unfortunately. As Knuckles looked over his shoulders towards the rest and mouthed his report.

"Enforcer."

Mobians had gotten more scared but were prepared to fight either way. Afterall, they had Knuckles and Sonic. Which would make taking down an Enforcer a lot easier. That confidence didn't last very long.

"Two." Knuckles mouthed. The entire group tensed up more than before. Tails felt his throat dry up. They were only a group of 6. Not really strong in the numbers department. Though to Knuckles it didn't seem to matter in their current predicament, he moved his hands up with 3 fingers held up on each. He pointed one hand towards an officer to the left and the other to the right.

The resistance all nodded their heads understanding what their commander wanted them to do. They'll split the work and hope for the best. Tails made an attempt to stick with Sonic's group but appeared to be too late on as another mobian followed him alongside knuckles. Sonic noticed and gave him a sheepish smile and a thumbs up.
