The Falling Out

Summary: Takes place after Dexter and Samantha. Kore and Striker have a heated argument about the baby and things happen.

The Falling Out

In a corner of an alley, someone smiled widely as he recorded Striker's harassment of a child and Samantha on video on his phone. He scrolled through the video and then sent a link onto the texting app. He typed in a name into the sender: Kore.

Striker came home to their bedroom to see his wife, folding her arms with her phone in one hand.

"Kore?!" Striker gasped, "What the hell?!"

"I finally saw how you REALLY reacted to us having our first child together!" his wife retorted in a hurt tone.

"You had no right!"

"Yes, I did have a right to know! And you betrayed our family friend by mistreating a poor child, who did nothing to you!"

"Listen, the kid is only going to ruin our lives and get in our way."

"You don't know that. You're just too judgmental to admit that. You know what it's like to be treated like shit by an overlord, yet you were uncaring enough to treat Samantha and the child like shit. The only person ruining our lives right now is YOU." She stroked her abdomen to get her point across.

Striker gasped, but this time in regret and slightly jealous that their unborn child was getting the attention.

"If that's how you feel, Striker, then we should just go our separate ways." Kore started to walk away to her parents' car.

"Kore, wait!"

Kore turned to her soon to be ex-husband's voice. "Just forget it! I'll just raise my child alone!" She continued running towards the car.

Striker gasped. He couldn't believe what he had heard. The room was full of silence as Striker thought about the words Kore had just said. He began to think about what he had done, but this time with regret. It was true that he had become slightly jealous that their unborn child was getting the attention. But then at the same time...he realized it was no excuse for what he just did.

Luckily for Kore, her parents helped her pack her belongings into a pickup truck. Soon after saying goodbye to her, Kore's parents hopped into the pickup truck with Kore's father starting the car, letting it sputter smoke from the tailpipe as it did. Then they drove off into the distance for which Kore hoped that they would bring the stuff to a new house.

One thing she knew: If she needed anything, she'd give them a call and they'd come over to pick her up.
