The next morning, as Jungkook had instructed, Y/N woke him up early. The morning air carried a slight chill, and the golden hues of sunlight peeked through the curtains, casting a soft glow over the bedroom. She handed him his neatly ironed suit and stood before him, her fingers carefully working on his tie.
Clearing her throat, she finally spoke, breaking the comfortable silence.
"Uh... J-Jungkook, when will your cousins arrive?"
Jungkook, who had been watching her fingers move with delicate precision, blinked and focused on her question.
"Their flight lands at 4:30 p.m., so they should be here by 6:00 p.m."
Y/N nodded, a small nervous smile forming on her lips.
"Oh... that's great."
Jungkook frowned slightly. He knew her well enough to sense when she had something else on her mind.
"Do you want to say something else?" he asked, his voice calm yet observant.
She always found it fascinating how he could read her so easily. Taking a deep breath, she hesitated before finally voicing her thoughts.
"Actually, since your cousins are coming, I was thinking of cooking something special for them. So, I need to go shopping for groceries and a few other things..."
Before she could finish, Jungkook pulled out his wallet and handed her his sleek black card.
"Here. Buy whatever you need. Just make sure everything is perfect."
She looked at the card in his hand before meeting his gaze, surprised by how easily he trusted her with it.
"Don't worry, I won't let you down," she said with a bright smile.
Jungkook stared at her, his fingers still holding the card, hesitant to let go-not because he didn't trust her, but because, for a brief moment, he was lost in her smile. It was rare to see her like this, and for some reason, he couldn't look away.
Realizing he was staring, he quickly shook off the thought and cleared his throat.
"Are you done? I'm getting late."
"Oh! Yeah... umm... done."
She was about to step back when she noticed something in his hair. Without thinking, she lifted her hand to remove it, but Jungkook instinctively pulled away.
"W-What are you doing?" he asked, slightly startled.
Y/N chuckled softly. "Relax. You had something in your hair." She removed the small piece of paper and showed it to him. "See?"
Jungkook glanced at the paper and then at her, feeling oddly flustered.
"Hmmm. I'm leaving now. If you need to go somewhere, tell the driver to take you." He grabbed his suitcase and turned toward the door.
"Okay. Bye... take care."
Jungkook didn't respond as he walked out, but as he reached the car, he let out a deep sigh. His hand subconsciously brushed over his tie, the one she had fixed for him.
