"Are you sure?"

"Yes, Aunt, I am sure. He is not the same cold and distant Jungkook we once knew. This Jungkook is different. Believe me, he wants Y/N in his life—not just now, but always. He just realized it too late." Taehyung’s voice carried a certainty that made Mrs. Jeon pause. He then took a deep breath and recounted everything Jungkook had said, every word laced with the weight of his emotions. When he finished, Mrs. Jeon let out a long sigh of relief, her tense shoulders finally relaxing.

"Thank God," she whispered. "I thought I ruined Y/N's life. If I had even the slightest idea that Jungkook would treat her that way after marriage, I would never have let this happen. Bless Leena for telling me everything about them."

Taehyung hesitated for a moment, choosing his words carefully before speaking. "Aunt, the entire fault was not Jungkook's alone. You should have supported him and his love, not forced him into a marriage he never wanted. I know your intentions were never to harm anyone, but in trying to protect Y/N, you ended up breaking three hearts." His voice was gentle, but firm, as he wanted her to understand the gravity of the situation without feeling attacked.

Mrs. Jeon’s face fell, regret etching deeper lines onto her features. "You are right, Taehyung. It was our fault too. We never prioritized our son’s happiness. I just wanted the best for Y/N because she had no one else in this world. But in doing so, I ignored my own son's feelings—no, I didn’t just ignore them. I dismissed them, knowing full well who he truly wanted in his life."

Taehyung’s heart clenched at the sight of her tears. He reached out, gently wiping them away as he cupped her face with his hands. "Aunt, there's no point in dwelling on past mistakes. Jungkook and Y/N are trying to start fresh, and what they need now is our support. We can't change what happened, but we can learn from it and ensure that the future is better for them."

Mrs. Jeon sniffled, nodding as her gaze met Taehyung’s, gratitude shining in her eyes. But before Taehyung could say anything else, she suddenly sighed, shaking her head. "Still, I feel like I owe Jungkook an apology too. He deserved better from his own mother. I should have trusted him, should have listened to him instead of forcing my own decisions on him. He had to bear the weight of this marriage, of our expectations, and my disappointment. And despite all that, he still found his way back to Y/N. That was never my doing—it was his love for her. I need to tell him that I am sorry."

Taehyung smiled softly. "He needs to hear that from you, Aunt. He may not say it, but deep down, I know he has been waiting for this. It’s not easy to open up about pain when it comes from your own family. But if you show him that you truly understand what he went through, it will mean everything to him."

Mrs. Jeon took a deep, shaky breath before nodding. "I will. I just hope I’m not too late."

"It’s never too late to make things right." Taehyung gave her a reassuring squeeze on the shoulder before playfully rolling his eyes. "Besides, Jungkook is stubborn, but he’s a mama’s boy deep down. He'll forgive you."

Mrs. Jeon let out a soft chuckle, shaking her head. "Why aren’t you my son? Let me just adopt you."

Taehyung’s eyes widened as he nervously laughed, stepping back. "What are you saying, Aunt? You already have Jungkook!"

"I don’t want that cold iceberg," she huffed, wiping away the remnants of her tears.

Taehyung grinned. "And I have no interest in being Jungkook’s stepbrother. I’m perfectly fine with the ‘best friend’ title, thank you very much!" With that, he bolted out of the room, leaving Mrs. Jeon shaking her head with an amused yet fond smile.
