My golden gaze fell upon a starless sky as I once again found myself in a vacant alley, the empty canvas reminiscent of the loneliness I felt inside, the fuel moon a beacon of hope in this harsh reality we call life. In all the world there was no one I could count on to be there when I needed them most, this solitude forced me to become independent from a young age so in essence there was nothing to tie me down. The truth is I longed for a meaningful relationship, more than anything I wanted a friend who could look past my abnormal appearance that seemed to justify innate cruelty in my fellow man. You see aside from my yellow iris I had one more unique attribute that warranted such animosity and that being my hair which possessed an unnatural hue, a deep scarlet that gave it a bloodstained appearance. These abnormalities in my genome inevitably leading to persecution and subsequent scars, the latter of which I became a collector of over the years. Occasionally I would wear a cloak in an effort to mask the pain but in doing so I became more appetizing as an outcast, under such circumstances it would be easy to give into despair but my will continued to endure no matter what was thrown at it.

This moment of reflection interrupted by a harbinger of hope soaring across the heavens, tempted by fate I made a wish as it vanished into the night never to be seen again. With fleeting optimism I longed for a family, a home, and a new beginning. Little did I know someone was listening to this plea from afar and they were determined to help me see it through whether I wanted them to or not, unaware of their insight I drifted off to a distant melody. A soft tune that seemed to drain my strength the more I listened to it, the vacant alley began to fade into obscurity as I caved in to the mysterious musician's lullaby wholeheartedly. Involuntarily my body began relaxing as soon someone planted a kiss on my forehead before picking up like a small child, cradling me close to her chest as she shushed me gently. Instinctively I complied seeing as how I couldn't resist at this point, I was at her mercy plain and simple, and for once I found comfort in feeling helpless. With a smile I nodded off in her arms not really caring what tomorrow holds in store as long as I could enjoy this one moment a little longer, she hugged me close getting a slight blush out of me. Cooing softly as she knew this was only the first of many precious moments for the soon to be kit.
