Here's the not-so-fun part. It was the routinely familiar part where you would even try to begin to figure out what was going on between you and Eren. After all this time, you still couldn't place your finger on it.

To think, you thought this would have been neatly sorted out after the evening spent at his parents' house just a few weeks ago.

Fat chance.

Really, it was becoming utterly ridiculous at this point. You spent practically all your free time with Eren, doing nonsense like baking crappy brownies and watching dumb movies that you had seen at least a million times. It seemed so platonic – almost to a painful degree because you wanted there to be more. More than just the fleeting instances in which that friendly facade was shattered to bits.

It was like the two of you would let the pressure build until it was no longer bearable. Only then would you allow for a small release. It was comparable to letting the air slowly slide out of a balloon that was ready to burst. And once just enough pressure was relieved, things would return to that weird sense of normalcy you created.

You often wondered if this was sustainable. It was more than likely that there would be a time when this tension would finally cause the balloon to pop in your complacent faces.

When that pressure begged for release, it was always Eren that initiated it (surprise, surprise). These passing interactions were no longer limited to when it was just the two of you. That would be too easy. Now, it was happening even when you were in the company of your friends. Eren would manage to weasel his way into getting you alone, even if it were just for a moment.

Something within Eren would snap. It would be as if he couldn't let another second go by without having you pressed up against him. Sometimes it was the way the collar of your blouse would hang just a little too low and expose the plump skin of your cleavage. Other times, it was much more unpredictable. More than ever, it was the ordinary moments that had him entirely smitten with you, and those instances were no longer few and far between.

For example, Eren recently found himself enamored by the sight of you getting invested in a video game. He couldn't even remember the game now – he only focused on how you paused the game to corral your hair into a ponytail. The swift ease of your movements and the excitedly-determined look on your face was humiliatingly irresistible to him.

On these occasions, Eren would wait for you to excuse yourself to the bathroom. He would 'coincidentally' make up some sorry reason to leave the room, too. Once he had you away from prying eyes, he would steal wanton kisses from you. Some of them were innocently short – merely a peck while he strolled past you. Then there were the times when you would suddenly find your back pushed against a dark hallway wall with his hands roaming your body with pure recklessness.

Eren knew these instances drove you crazy in more ways than one. Not only did you want each kiss to last longer, but they always left you feeling like a shameful mess when you returned to your friends. And without fail, he would leave you standing in the hallway, desperately craving more, with nothing more than a wicked smile on his face.

But, hey, at least he was actually kissing you now.

You knew it was only a matter of time until your friends figured out what was going on. They weren't stupid. If anything, they had already put the pieces together. You knew Sasha had suspicions about you and Eren, especially regarding the infamous night you shared on her squeaky air mattress. And Eren knew that Armin could never keep a secret. It was inevitable that he would soon blab about Eren's confession. On top of all that, you were the one that slipped up to Connie about kissing Eren.

You two had managed to leave quite the trail of breadcrumbs, hadn't you?

Of course, today was one of those excruciating days where you could sense the pressure was becoming too much. It was demanding for any smidgen of release.
