chapter 1

The new boy

I stare at the ceiling, a million things running through my head. my parents are gone, so is my brother and all I ask is why them? why did they have to leave me alone here? I don't know. everyone always asks me if I'm okay, my answer? , 'I'm fine, thanks for asking,' but really I'm not. nothing matters anymore. nothing at all.

"Hey, um... Rose are you okay?" Ariana said as she plopped down next to me. I slightly nod my head.

I see as she tilts her head a bit. Ariana, my bestfriend who I love so much can read me like a book, honestly I don't know how. she gives me a half smile before standing up.

"School starts tomorrow so I hope you're prepared." She smiled in excitement. oh no.

I just fake a smile back at her as she closes my door, softly. I could imagine her walking down the hall, doing some sort of happy dance. I probably look so crazy laying here laughing to myself. I finally felt the urge to get up and go somewhere.

"Ariana, come with me to the cafe?" I said as more a statement then a question. she playfully rolls her eyes.

We arrive at the cafe and we take a seat outside since it's nice today.

"So Rose , have you met anyone yet?" She said, wiggling her eyebrows.

"If I did, don't you think I would've told you?" I shake my head, laughing.

She gives me that look, like the look you would give your friend when you think they're lying. the squinty eye look.

A waiter comes over to our table and of course it's a guy. She wiggles her eyebrows at me, while I tilt my head and raise my eyebrows.

"what can I get you two lovely ladies?" The boy smiles, his white teeth showing. he looks like he could be in one of those gum commercials. I laugh to myself.

"Just get both of us a latte please." Ariana smiled.
"And maybe your number." I heard her mumble. if I was drinking something I probably would have spit it out.
He nods before heading back inside the cafe.

"Ariana, you need to calm down a bit, I heard what you said." I groaned.

She rolled her eyes but began to smirk. "I hope he heard too."

I groan as I hear my alarm clock ring and Nope I'm not getting up, not happening. I pull my covers over my head. I hear my door creak open, I ignore it.

"Rose, babe you have to get up." Ari cooed, she lifts the blanket off of my body and I mentally roll my eyes.

I try to protest on going to school today but nope, my best friend is not having it. she literally pulls me out of bed and picks my clothes out for me. I swear she thinks she is my mother.

"And there you go, were off to school now." she smiled, intertwining her arm with mines.

I stare out of the window as Ari talks to me. of course I'm not listening because I'm to busy staring at the beautiful sites. I've always been interested in nature. camping was my favorite. I also like to draw things, like butterflies and stuff but anyways next subject.

"Rose.." Ari says, looking over at me, she seemed annoyed but why?

"Hmm?"

"Are you even listening to what I'm saying? Look Elena,I know it's a hard time for you right now but please... just stay strong for me." I looked down at my lap as she talked.
I don't know if I can do that.
I look up at her and she gives me a lopsided smile.

I get out of the car, breathing in the fresh air. I stare at my school building, hesitating to open the door. I hear a huff from behind me. Ariana opens the door and let's me in first. I stare around, my schedule in my hand.

I see Audrey at a locker with a boy. I grin at her and she sees me. her smile grows as she walks over to me, she then embraces me in a tight hug.

"I haven't seen you all summer! are you okay?" She exclaimed, her hands on my shoulders. I slightly nod. she pulls me in for another hug.

"Is she okay." I hear her whisper to Ari.
(Hehe this happend in like season 1 of tvd, sorry big fan (:)

"Audrey I'm fine, okay? I'm completely fine." I sigh. she looks at me then walks away.
I look around the hall and my eyes lock with some boy, but he was very attractive so I didn't look away, nor did he. his hair was sort of long and curly. wow, how can a boy pull that off?

"Elena , you're drifting again." I hear Ari laugh beside me.

"Oh, sorry got distracted." I said as I stared at him as we walked pass him.

"Wow, that guy is kind of hot." she said, stopping in the middle of the hallway, staring at the very handsome boy. I see him crack a smile before walking to wherever he went.

Arianna and I head out different ways. as I'm walking I feel my body collide with someone's, the stuff in their hands . falling to the ground.

"I am so sorry." I said not even making eye contact with the person. I kneel down picking up the books.
The person leans down helping as well.
I look up and see the boy that I was staring at.

"It's alright." he said, a smirk placed upon his lips. Woah.

"Oh, uhm sorry I was in sort of a rush, must've turned that corn-" I rambled but was cut off by him.

We stood up and I handed him his books, as he softly grabbed them.

"Are you new here?" I asked, I noticed he had a English accent, a very deep one.

"Yea, transferred from the UK to here." he nodded, he smiled cheekily which was so adorable.

I nod, slightly interested.

"Well my name is rose, I guess I'll see you around sometime." I smile about to walk off but I hear him say something.

"My name is Harry by the way."
