********************************THIRD PERSON POV;
After a morning of music and cleaning the girls were finally done with their room. It was a Saturday and they made it a habit to clean the room thoroughly. Alora went to take out the trash. On her way, some guys were seated on watching the girls pass by their dorm. Alora always wondered why they were allowed to do that but girls weren't even allowed near any of the male dorms. She plugged in her earphones so as to drown out their words. The voice in her head already took up the role of making her feel less of herself, she didn't need boys to do more damage. The guys eventually noticed Alora passing by, "Broo look at that one! Why are her clothes so big? She's got a pretty face though" the tall one Jason said. The rest of the guys nodded in agreement, all except one. Damian. The most attractive guy in med school, at least according to all the girls. He had really dark skin that glowed literally. He wasn't lacking in the height department but his most attractive feature were his lips . Now pink lips on a dark guy were enough to make any girl go crazy. His t-shirt lined his biceps in a very appealing manner. He was basically the guy of any girl's dream. He was smart and attractive. His only downfall was the fact that he knew he could pull any girl he wanted without even trying and he was convinced Alora was one of those girls.
Damian watched as Alora walked back. He timed her steps just so he could bump into her. " Oh sorry bro, didn't see you there" Alora said taking a step aside. He took a step to block her. "Hey. I'm Nine. What's your name?" he said with a smug look on his face not knowing he had already pissed Alora off. To his surprise she didn't blush or anything she just stood and stared at him wondering what he wanted. She finally spoke up, " Nine? Like that's the name your mother gave you or you got to college and gave yourself another name because I'm not buying that your name is Nine." Normally would have been pissed off , but he just smiled, "My name is Damian. The guys call me Nine because nine girls asked me to the same dance back in highschool and I almost attempted going with all of them." Alora, satisfied that he told her all that , said in a very demeaning tone, "Alora. That's the name my mother gave me. Yes I know it's a strange name so no comments. Have a good day Damian." She scurried off before he engaged her any longer .
She got back to the room ready to rant.." Can you imagine the nerve?! What sort of a nickname is Nine?? So what? He was just expecting me to give him my number because he's cute?? Ew." She finally relaxed and faced her roommates. "What on earth are you rambling about now Lora?" Kiki teased as she giggled with the other other roommates. Alora on the other hand didn't care that they were teasing her. In fact she went on to rant even more, "As you are all aware of I went to take out the trash. On my way back, a guy stood in front of me was spilling absolute crap. I was so irritated. He gave himself the nickname Nine for a reason that just proved how daft guys could be." She let out a sigh.. and wondered why the thought of him irked her so much. Kiki shook her head and continued,"I know Nine.. he's a friend. He's not that bad when you get to know him." The look Alora had on her face wasn't even a pleasant one,"What do you mean get to know him?? There's no way in hell I'm speaking to that guy again. Ew." The rest of the girls just stared in confusion, Nine was really attractive, any sane girl would enjoy his attention, it was at this moment they concluded that Alora was definitely NOT sane.
Meanwhile at the boy's dorm Nine kept asking around about Alora. "I just can't seem to get her out of my mind." He stated for the umpteenth time that day. His quest wasn't in vain, after a lot of directions he found a cousin of hers. He pleaded and pleaded until he was able to get her number. Her cousin, Ryle, gave him the number with just one statement, "Hurt her and you're a goner." Nine only nodded because he knew he wouldn't hurt her, he was so sure she would be the mother of his kids. That night he texted her
Nine: Hey
He could have done something better but he chose to keep it simple
Lora: Hi. Please who is this?
He couldn't help but chuckle to himself
Nine: It's Nine.
Lora: Oh hello Damian. How'd you get my number?
"This is officially the start of something beautiful" He thought to himself before proceeding.
Nine: I'll tell you if you come see me tonight.
Lora: I'm not that interested to know..lol
Nine: It's my birthday.
She couldn't resist it. "It's his birthday. It won't be fair to him. I'll wish him a happy birthday and leave." She told herself.
Lora: Meet me by 8. You had better not be lying.
He smiled and got ready, "Bye guys. I'm off to see the mother of my kids" his roommates just stared and wondered which girl he was talking about this time. The weather was nice.. the perfect weather to meet the soon to be love your life. "I'm going to let myself fall in love with you Alora."
