a string of profanities fell from her mouth as she scrambled up from the couch and rushed for the shower - she finally realized she was stranded without a car. it was all the way across town, so walking was way out of the question. she also didn't even know a single digit of harry's number, so contacting him was most likely not happening for a long time.
her shower was quick due to the way she threw the soap onto her body and the shampoo into her mess of hair. she was very on edge, what with having no car and asshole friends; she could only think about how she could get around for the days to come. she needed a way to get to work, she needed a way to see harry, she just needed to somehow get her car back. there was no way she was taking the bus everywhere.
she dried with a towel and was half dressed, clad with only jeans and a bra, when there was a knock on the front door. how incredulous.
she was almost opening it when she realized she needed something to cover her chest more than her bra. a blanket was the closest thing, so that would remain her lifesaver. she twisted the handle and poked her head around the small opening she'd created.
"hiiii," harry said in a sing song voice. "is this a bad time?" he asked, taking in her disheveled state.
"definitely. it definitely is." she answered breathlessly. "what is it?"
"i was going to take you to retrieve your car, but-"
"oh thank god! harry, ugh, i was worried! couldn't have brought this up last night, could you?" she hissed, the blanket failing her slightly, seeing as she was losing grip on the corners.
"i didn't want to worry you, you were tired." he explained, expression mellow and even slightly hurt. she let out a sigh of frustration. she was only fed up with everything that's happened, the last thing she wanted to do was upset him.
"sorry, i'm sorry. can you wait in the car? i'm half naked." she told him, hesitant about the last sentence but couldn't catch herself before it was out of her mouth.
his chuckle was indescribable, seemingly a mix of fondness and arrogance at the same time. "anything for you, lovely." he bid her a short goodbye with a slight nod of the head in her direction and a stride off to the parking garage.
she shook her head while she closed the door and tossed the blanket back onto the couch. she not-so-gracefully hurried around to get her shirt on successfully and finish her makeup, hair, and teeth in an amount of time where he wasn't kept waiting too long. she hated to keep people waiting, especially if it was someone like him.
she grabbed her wallet and keys (which she was surprised to see she had) and made her way out to him, at least that's what she aimed to do. today, it seemed, there were a hell of a lot more cars in the parking garage, and an immense amount of range rovers.
"oh damn," she huffed, dragging her hands down her face.
she wandered around for god only knows how long before a honk sounded, scaring the absolute shit out of her. she looked over her shoulder to see harry sitting smugly in his driver's seat, patting the one next to him. she marched over and climbed in, slamming the door behind her.
"lovely, settle down. just some jokes," he laughed, starting the car and stealing frequent glances at her frustrated face.
"just some jokes," she mocked. "very funny, harry."
"you love me." he smirked, placing his hand on her knee and shaking it playfully. she sighed, defeated, and let a smile sneak onto her lips.
"you're so dumb," she giggled, eyes closed and forehead in the crevice of her hand. "really, though, thanks for taking me to get my car. would've been so lost without it."
"well..." he began, mischevious. "i was thinking we'd go a few places before that."
"you're kidding." she groaned, half laughing, half sighing.
"not even a little bit." he grinned, tipping his head toward her as they slowed at a stop light. "i thought maybe you'd be handy in picking a few things out."
she rolled her eyes about half way around until she saw they were about to park in the ikea parking lot (quite far away for that matter).
"so you were driving here anyways without my agreement?" she questioned, smirk prominent on both of their faces. he stared at her, winking after a few seconds.
"what can i say, i plan ahead."

malia was beginning to see why he'd needed her there. he was describing his house to her as he was picking out the most bizarre things to put in it, and every one he picked up, malia put right back down.
"no, harry, really? your house, you're telling me, is dark and modern, and you want that to decorate it with?" she groaned, looking at his expression with disbelief. she was now coming to an understanding of the christmas lights around his winery.
"i like to express myself." he said simply, shrugging. "if you know so much about the house you haven't even seen, then you can pick out everything, see how that works out for you."
"see how that works out for me? it's your house, buddy." she told him sharply as they walked along the isles, ready to pick out substitutes for his previous (and absolutely horrendous) choices.
he'd instructed her that he needed things to spice up the place, seeing as he'd just moved in and the walls were nothing but blank canvases. he also wanted a few pieces of furniture, and with all he was listing, she wondered how big the place actually was. about another hour into their venture, she decided to bring up her still needing her car.
"harry, are we ever going to go get my car-"
"shhh," he said, shoving his pointer finger against her mouth. she looked down at it in confusion. "you're helping me."
"are you drunk?" she whispered as he took his finger off her mouth and continued to look at his choices of dining tables.
he turned his attention to her, eyes bright and lips curved. "in love."
