Night Sky

Stars, blue dark purplish sky, and a bright full moon, are something I always see when looking up to the sky. Never once wondering if there is another life beside earth is up there. Wind blows gently to my face, while I sit down enjoying my hot coffee. As I sipped my coffee little by little, I was thinking how beautiful the night sky was with the full moon shining very bright. "How beautiful the moon and the night sky are. Masha Allah."

Every night, I always sit down on my balcony watching the night skies. I realize that once every month, something different happens to the moon. As I observed with my telescope and my lux meter, the moon always shines brighter, whatever the phase, every 15 each month. I asked my professor about this phenomenon but he has no clue why. I went into my local library and read every book about astronomy and got no answer either. I searched for conspiracy theories and mythical stories about the moon and found a lot of answers. What really stuck in my head is "The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter."

"The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter" is a popular folklore from Japan, which tells about Nayotake Kaguya ascending to the Moon to meet her moon people, leaving her foster family and The Emperor she loved. She was found as an infant by a bamboo cutter who was later to be her foster parents, and within 3 months she was already becoming a fine lady.

"Hmmm, this might be the answer to my question. But, from folklore? Nonsense." As i talked to myself. "But among other theories, this is the closest one. Well, beggars cannot choose." Knowing that might be the answer, I called it a day and went home.

As I walked back from my local library, I saw a faint trail of light coming from the moon. "Well, that's interesting." When I reached my door, "Wait, today is not 15 ! OH SHOOT !!" Immediately I ran back to my local library. On the way to the library, I looked up and the trail was gone. The sky is back to how it was before. Nevertheless, I am still running to the library.

Again, I need to find an astronomical book, conspiracy theories, and mythical stories to be able to know what that trail was. I read every single one, and it puzzled me. "Perhaps it was just a comet, but comet trails do not fade that fast. Even for the Neowise Comet, it took 3 days to fade from the Indonesia night sky. What could that be ? Could it be a mythical creature ? Could it be a concert spotlight ? Or was it just my imagination ?" I asked myself. Curious to find the answer, I forced myself to read until my eyes were tired. The librarian was so kind, she gave me a glass of water and some snacks.

As Time goes by, people come and go, I still haven't finished my research yet. My eyes were so tired, when I went to the toilet I saw that my face looked like a panda face. "Guess I'm gonna take a rest for a while. Been 5 hours without rest.'' I spoke to myself. "Geez, it's morning already ? I'm gonna take a day off from college. Pretty tired to be honest. Nah, I'm going to college. Didn't want to spoil my 100% presence."

I washed my face, told the librarian I'm going to go back after college, and left my local library. "We still have 2 hours before first class starts, guess I'm heading home for a quick wash, take a ballpoint and some papers." Said myself while walking home.

While walking home, I grabbed a burrito and a newspaper. I was surprised when I saw the cover. " 'Rare phenomenon !! A Trail of light was discovered near the moon. Scientists have yet to find out why.' How convenient." As I took a bite of my delicious burrito, at the corner of my eyes I saw a young lady peeking at me. But when I turned my head, she suddenly disappeared. "Looks like I have company, eh? It's okay, you can get out. It's not like I'm gonna bite you or something."

The young lady was scared, and slowly showing herself. She was so scared, she couldn't look me in the face. I offered her my burrito, and she quickly grabbed and ate it whole. After she finished eating, she bowed to me and just ran away. " Boy oh boy, at least I got a bite for breakfast. I'm amazed she ate the wrapping paper too." Said myself as I continued my walk home.

Long story short, I went back from my college. As always, I finished college when dusk came to play. I looked at my watch and it's 5.30 pm. "Do I need to visit the library again today ? I'm so tired." So I just walked home. " The worst thing she said must be, ' please do not tell me you would come after your college when you are not coming.'" I arrived at my home. Took a quick bath and went straight to sleep on the sofa.

When I was asleep. I vaguely dream about a young lady. She said she was from the moon and was descended to earth as her punishment for her **** ***** . "That thing you offered me this morning, I thank you for that. You are the ***** to ********* me on this earth. By the way, we haven't introduced ourselves. My name is Mo-."

GWAK GWAK GWAK GWAK GWAK. My Alarm goes on. I woke up and turned off the alarm. "What a weird dream. Huh, what's this ?" asked me. There was a robe lying beside me, and I felt someone was using the bathroom. The door wasn't locked, and the door was partially closed. I gently open the door and, "Who are you, and why do you drink the toilet water ? That's dirty. And how do you enter my home ? I am genuinely confident I have locked the front door."
