I just... Don't Believe it

"This pendant is for my guardian. Since I'm on earth and you are my guardian on earth, you might want to wear this." Said Moona. I took the pendant and wore it on my neck. What was about to happen was something that I don't want to believe.

"You're about to see something that you certainly won't believe. So, be prepared. I want my guardian to know my story before we depart. So, let's dive into my full story." said Moona. She raised her hand and snapped her fingers. The moon's surface suddenly appeared in front of me. I saw her home and her parents with her people doing daily activities. They're pretty much like us, human earth. The way they walk, they dress, almost everything is so similar. "This is my home. It was so calm and tidy with my parents loving each other. It was 90 days before I was born. My parents were so looking forward to my birth. They think about my names, will I be more like my mom or my dad, they even cannot sleep properly without thinking about their daughter inside mom belly." said Moona.

Moona then raised her hand and made a swipe gesture. She showed me her parents rushing to the doctor. "10 days before I was born, my mom suddenly fell to the ground and fainted on the spot while doing house chores. Luckily, my father was nearby. He lifted my mother and rushed to the doctor. 'DOCTOR, HELP MY WIFE!!!' shouted my father. The doctor quickly approached my mother and examined her. My Father didn't understand what happened and was told by the doctor to stay outside." she then swiped again. "After approximately 2 hours, the doctor came to my father. The doctor explained that my father brought my mother to him at the right time because if he was 10 minutes late, my mother would die. My father was very glad to hear that. But the doctor continued his explanation. It sounded like this, 'Your wife was attacked by an unknown dark force, perhaps from the dark side of the moon. It left a star mark on her belly and perhaps on your daughter too. But be afraid not, it will not affect your daughter physically and hopefully mentally too.' My father was shocked, he was trembling and just ran to see my mother's condition."

Moona then looked at me and said, "that pendant that I gave you is the same pendant that my father wore. It was given by the doctor originally to my mother, but my mother died right after she gave birth to me. It left a painful scar on my father's heart. He then cried as loud as he could, but something strange happened. His tear that was dripping to my mother's pendant made the pendant glow and when he touched it, he saw my mother standing next to him. He tried to reach her, but he couldn't. My mother said to my father, 'No need to reach me, darling. We are already in a different world.' My father was shocked and sat in disbelief. 'Look at her, darling. Isn't she beautiful? Her eyes look like stars, and her small hand grips your finger. Her hair looks like yours, but her face is mine though.' said my mother. My father really cannot hold himself and then he cried. My mother approached him and tried to hug him, but it went through my father's body. My mother then cried and called my father. 'Darling, please, look at me. My time is running out. I need to tell you something.' cried my mother. My father then looked at her. 'Please take good care of her. My body may not be there, but I will always be with you and our daughter. Goodbye darling, I will be part of the stars now.' said my mother crying. My mother then vanished into thin air and left a trail into the skies."

Moona then broke down in tears. "And then my father came to me, lifted me, and said, 'My wife has become part of the night skies, leaving a star right on my hand. She is a beauty star, like her mother was. You are a descendant from the stars, my daughter!' my father then looked at me. 'Your name will be Moona Hoshinova, the moon that surrounded by stars.'" She tried to continue her story, but she was sobbing. And then she fell down.

I quickly ran to her. "Are you okay, Moona? Do you wish to end your story?"

"Not yet, you must know the full story, I should not stop yet." said Moona. She then swiped her hand, and.... BUGGHH

Moona fell unconscious. The image projection was shattered into thin air. Moona breathed heavily probably because she cried earlier. I panicked,and slid myself into front of her. I looked at her eyes and saw her pupils were getting bigger and bigger."I... Still... Need... To... Finished... My.... Story..." said Moona moments before she was unconscious.

"Moona, Moona, Stay with me!" I said while patting her face. I couldn't calm down at that time, I didn't even care about my phobia. All I knew was to make sure she was okay in all shape. "I need to call Paramedic!"

2 minutes later the paramedics came. They rushed into Moona and examined her. It goes very fast, so fast I couldn't comprehend what was happening. One of the paramedics put me in a different room and tried to calm me down. She also asked me various questions about what happened to Moona.

10 minutes later, the paramedics that examined Moona came to me. They explained that she just needed a rest because according to them, Moona didn't rest for at least 3 days. They told me to make her comfortable so she can have a good rest.

I just... don't believe it. All the goofiness at the beginning led me to this condition. I started to doubt my will to join her endeavor. Suddenly, the pendant that I wore glowed, and I saw an old man.

"Young man, do you perhaps one of my daughter's guardians?" asked the old man.

"I guess so. She wants me to accompany her on her pilgrimage." I answered.

"I see. It's quite rare that she wants someone to accompany her. She usually refuses any companion because she can handle it by herself." said the old man. "I'm sorry young man, I haven't introduced myself. My name is Hoshinova, the father of Moona Hoshinova. That pendant that you wore was once mine and I believe Moona has told you how that pendant works."

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Hoshinova. My name is Meeka Mikkonen." I Introduced myself. I could see his face was smiling.

"So, Meeka, let me continue her stories. Unlike Moona, I can't do an image projection so I hope my explanation wouldn't confuse you." said Mr. Hoshinova. "What she was going to show you was that when she fell in love for the first time. We, Moon people, are similar to you Earth people. We too fell in love with someone that attracted us, you know how it works."

Mr. Hoshinova then took a look at the unconscious Moona. "When she was 17 years old, she met someone that attracted her. He was a very polite 17 years old and was a close friend of hers. One day, when they were walking together, they're mugged. That polite man was chasing the mugger and he did it. He asked for their stuff, but the mugger had another idea. The mugger stabbed him right in his heart and he died instantly. Moona, who saw that incident, was furious and suddenly, according to her, her views were blocked by a black curtain. The next thing she knew, the mugger was shattered into million pieces, her hands were full of blood, and the bodies of her first lover were nowhere to be found. All the eyewitnesses saw her and told the high court about that incident. Moona was sentenced to live on earth until she replenished her sin."

"So that's what happened." I said to Mr. Hoshinova.

"Yes, coincidentally is when you saw a trail of light." Mr. Hoshinova then walked to her and touched her pendant. "About her pendant, the high court threw it somewhere far away on earth and luckily landed inside your house." said Mr. Hoshinova. He then looked at my pendant. "On the contrary, my pendant was flying on its own to follow her because its main purpose was given by her mother to protect her at all costs. My pendant needs someone to wear it because Moona cannot wear it. That's why the term guardian was created for her. I was her guardian on the moon. Because Moona chose you and the pendant didn't reject you, you are her guardian on earth."

"This pendant chose the guardian?" I asked to Mr. Hoshinova. "Why did it choose me?"

"That's the answer that you need to find. The pendant never chooses the wrong people." answered Mr. Hoshinova. "That's all of it. I wish you for the best, and the pendant will know when you need anything from me. I will arrive in no time. Thank you, young man, please take good care of her and yourself." said Mr. Hoshinova.

The pendant then stopped glowing and Mr. Hoshinova vanished. I took a deep breath and took a seat on my sofa. What was happened? what is going to happen? I don't know. I just don't believe. it just like Moona said earlier.
