Lovely -Lauren Babic
"God it's been a fucking week already with this new hero in the training room. When can we actual weathered heroes use it?" Denki kicked the door to the training room.
All of the blinds were pulled down so that nobody could see who was in the training room. All anyone knew was that Deku and Dynamight were the only ones allowed in there. The only noises that could be heard were the rumbles of quirks being used, and a weirdly familiar playlist nobody could quite place.
Denki pressed his face against the window. Totally in vain, the blinds were all one piece. He could only make out three figures hopping around. "It looks like it's two against one." He looked over at Kirishima. "Get your man to let us inside."
Kirishima, Sero, and Mina all knew who was in there fighting Deku and Dynamight. She had expressed to them to keep quiet, and allow her to gain her strength back before she revealed herself to him.
Eri started studying Ari years ago. Fascinated with how Ari's quirk would tear her body down, Eri had concocted a plan to keep Ari alive no matter what. Sure the whole breakdown of her body had not exactly been in the plan, but it was taken care of. Endless were the nights that had Eri mapping out Ari's body to give her a shell. The organs had to come next and very quickly after, was the restart of the heart. Plenty of days were spent under heavy anesthesia reworking the brain and the heart and the organs to give Ari her proper life back. Finally, once Eri was happy with the results, and Ari was mostly back to normal, Eri gave Ari a choice.
See, Eri had kept a small pile of mud. The choice was pretty simple: Ari could gain her uterus back or she could keep a leg. It wasn't a malicious choice by any means, Eri just wanted to give Ari back what she had lost. And losing the leg would have just been a minor inconvenience for Ari because her quirk had evolved.
Midoriya questioned the floating ball of mud by Ari's head one day. He tried to touch it but it shocked him. That made Ari laugh because it reminded her of Denki. Turns out her quirk left her body, but decided that it wanted to protect her. It would do everything that she used to be able to do, but of no harm to her.
When Eri deemed her medically okay to go back into the field, she began her training with Midoriya and Bakugo. Every single day she would fight one or the other. Today, she wanted to fight them both. She was itching to see Denki.
Mina and Ari still lived together. Most of Ari's things ended up at Denki's apartment, but Mina and Kirishima took it all back after her death. Every day Mina would show Ari pictures and videos of Denki, and he just looked so broken. She wanted to put his pieces back together like Eri did for her. She was so ready to see him again.
Kirishima's phone began to ring and he quickly answered it. "Hey babe. Yeah. Are you sure? Where? Oh, interesting. Okay. Love you too." Kirishima looked at Mina and smiled. "He wants to go to that club we love so much. And he wants everyone to come." Kirishima looked at Denki. "Especially you."
Denki knew what club they were talking about. He didn't want to go, that's where he finally shot his shot with Ari. "No... I don't think..."
"Bakugo said he had something important there to do that you helped out with." Kirishima smiled. Of course he knew it was the second engagement cover, but it was the perfect plan.
"Oh. Uh there? I-I guess it makes sense." Denki looked down at the floor. Why not propose where they finally hooked up?
The four friends all got ready for their night out. Sero helped Denki pick out an outfit and wasn't that what he wore that night? Denki didn't dwell on it for long, this was for his friends.
Meanwhile, Mina was helping Ari get ready.
"Does that ball of mud want to, like, wear anything?" Mina threw some yellow fishnets at Ari.
"What? It's a ball of mud, Mina. It'll wear the top hat Eri made, thank you." Ari laughed as she slid the fishnets on.
"Are you nervous? You haven't seen him in five months now." Mina threw the black dress at Ari.
"A little. What if he sees me and runs away? Or like he sees me and is like 'ew no you were dead'? Or he doesn't like that I have a prosthetic leg now? Or like what if he passes out?" Ari began to bite at her fingernails.
Mina stared at her. "What. Ari. He's probably gonna cry and shit. He's been aching for you. And I doubt he's gonna have any issues with your lack of leg. Especially if you tell him what you have instead." Mina wiggled her eyebrows. "I'm asking you if you're nervous simply because you've been aching for him too."
Ari looked down at her now slightly messy manicure. "I guess I'm a little nervous. It's been months. I just want to see him again in person."
Mina smiled. It had been a rough month since Ari had come home. Ari slept in Mina's bed with her because she kept having nightmares about that night she died. She was very focused on getting better, but she still ached for the touch of her electric lover.
Once they were ready, they waited for the text from Sero confirming that they were there. Once that text came, the girls went to the club. Everything was going perfectly as planned. The same songs were playing and even the same booth was set up for them. Mina and Ari flashed their hero IDs to the bouncer and they walked right in. Mina spotted the four boys sitting at their booth, locking eyes with Sero. Sero stood up and excused himself to the bathroom. He then snuck up to the dj booth and readied the songs.
Electric Love started to play and Denki winced. That was the song that played when he saw her that night. He took a long drink of his beer and sat it down. Kirishima caught Denki's attention when Despacito started to play.
"Hey, who's that Sero is dancing with?" Kirishima nudged Denki.
