The next day was our first day of classes, and I was over the top excited. I had talked to Professor Flitwick earlier about all the classes I wanted to take and he ended up offering me a time turner. I was a little shocked, but accepted it anyway.
My first two class periods were fine, I had potions and muggle studies first, and defense against the dark arts for my second. Potions was with Gryfindor, so I got to hang out with Hermione and the golden trio for that one.
Then it came time for transfiguration. It was one of my favorite classes (along with charms), so I was really looking forward to it. It was with Slytherin, but since I was farther ahead in that class, I didn't know anyone.
I met up with George and Fred before 3rd and we started talking for a bit while walking to our classes.
"Man, I was really hoping transfig was with Gryffindor. That way I'd be with you guys, but apparently life had other plans." I sighed, placing my elbow on Fred's shoulder.
"Okay uh, number one, is that painful?" he asked, referring to the fact that I had to stand on my tippy toes and stretch my arm out in order to do that.
I took a breath, deciding if I should lie or not—finally deciding on not, "yeah," I breathed while taking my arm off his shoulder.
"And number two, you did not just say transfig."
"Maybe I did? It's shorter." I shrug.
George, whose still behind us, leans over my head and looks down, "So who's it with? Since it's not with gryffindor."
I looked up, meeting his eyes, "Slytherin."
"Oh." he purses his lips and scrunches his eyebrows while moving to my side now, "Well, I can't really help you there."
"Dang," I looked at Fred for any input.
He threw his hands up in the air, "Don't look at me! The only people I know have already finished all their transfiguration classes."
George cut in, "Unless you become besties with the new kid, Mattheo."
I scoffed, "Like that'll ever happen."
George points in the direction of Fred and his' class which just so happened to be down the opposite hallway I was going to.
"I'm down this way," I said, pointing the way I had to go.
"Make sure you get out of your class at the same time tomorrow, I wanna hear how everything goes." George told me in the most nonchalant way he could.
"I'll try," I told him.
"Let me know if You Know Who's kid does anything to you." Fred told me, already walking in the other direction, "Unless he's nice about it. Then you should introduce me to him."
I laughed a little, starting to walk farther from them, "Will do!"
"Byee!" George waves while walking backwards, keeping in eyesight as long as possible.
"See ya!" I waved back, doing the same.
Finally, Fred turned a corner and George quickly followed.
I laughed a little, knowing they were going to do that the rest of the year, before continuing my walk to transfiguration.
