Mattheo brought me along the streets of hogsmeade, occasionally walking into a store or two, but most of it was window shopping. Well, window shopping and Mattheo saying things like, "You'd look really good in that" or "Do you need a __" and "Have you tried ___ yet?"
I always told him I was fine with just looking, or that I didn't need another shirt, but he didn't stop. It was kind of cute though, not that I'd ever tell him that.
When we got to Honeydukes he got so much stuff.
"Mattheo! you already have like 5 chocolate frogs!" I laughed, watching him pile them onto his arm.
"But I'll eat at least 4, and you have to try one which means 5, and you'll definitely like them which means I need at least another 3!" He tried to reason with me.
I laughed even harder at this, "Oh my gosh,"
"What?" His eyes shifted and stared really at something a little left of my head, "Oh my gosh! they have Fizzing Whizbees!"
"What on earth are-" I started, but he grabbed my wrist and led me to another stand, "And I guess I'm going"
Mattheo bought so much stuff there I lost count. We ended up getting a basket, and filled it almost to the brim.
When we walked out of there we could not stop laughing.
We sat down on a nearby bench and ate a bunch of it while talking.
A few hours later we ended in the topic of sitting on the grass, "How can you like that? It's all mushy!"
I laughed, "It's only mushy if it's been raining, and obviously you wouldn't go under it if it was raining, or the ground was still wet!"
"Oh come on, it's always wet since Dumbledore keeps the sprinklers on."
"Well I don't-" I looked around us and noticed the sky's color fading, "Um Mattheo?!" I screeched.
"What?" He asked.
I stood up from the bench, "It's getting dark! What time is it?!"
"Oh geez I wasn't expecting to stay out this long!" He followed me off the bench and checked his watch.
"Okay uh it's almost 8, so we need to get back to hogwarts and go back 5 hours, right?"
"I think so." I started my way to the tunnel and Mattheo quickly caught up.
"so how many turns is it to go back that long?"
"uh..." I tried to do the math in my head, "I think 4 or so turns should be enough? But we have to be careful when we get there because our past selves will still be in the same place we were 5 hours ago."
"Right? So we need to hurry up because we will see... well... us, coming back through the tunnel."
"Yeah."
We started walking a little faster, eventually getting to the clothing shop we stopped in first. We changed back into our robes and when we finished, put our clothes into the bag with Mattheo's candy.
Before we climbed into the tunnel I stopped him.
"Come here." I said
"What?" he asked.
"Just come here!" I gestured for him to come closer as I strung my time turner around both of our necks.
"Oh right, duh"
I strung it around and spun it 4 times exactly. The world around us went back in time quickly, people walking backwards, the wind blowing the trees, everything in reverse.
When it slowed I took the time turner off him and tucked it back under my shirt, checking the clock. 2:52 pm, perfect.
"Okay, now we go." I plunged into the tunnel, not even waiting for a response.
