We were now on the way back to HQ.

"Hey Tanjiro..." Kanao asked

"Hmm?"

"Well. Thank you for not killing anyone for this mission,"

"They didn't need to be so there weren't any,"

"Still though. I'm glad you're safe after battling an upper moon. Must have been tuff huh?" She asked with a smile

I thought back to Akaza and remembered how much stronger then he was then Gyotaro

"No. It was easy," With that, I walked ahead of her.

We were now back at HQ and were being flooded with questions such as their strength and abilities and whatnot.

After it was over it was near midnight so I went to Mitsuri's place and knocked on the door

After a while, a very sleepy Mitsuri answered "Oh? Tanjiro I thought you would be coming tomorrow..."

"No, I am here now so tell me,"

"Well. I want you to know that I don't plan on giving up on you. I heard from Kanao too that you didn't kill anyone, so I know that this may not mean a lot to you but I am proud," She said with a smile only an angel could have

With that, I left to go back to the butterfly estate. Only to see Shinobu waiting on the porch

"Welcome back," She said with a smile

"Thanks," I planned to keep walking inside back she grabbed my wrist

"Wait... I know you just got back but... can we talk?"

She seemed sad so I figured I'd at least listen for a little while.

"Sure,"

"Thank you. Follow me please,"

With that, she led me into her room, which was very organized and nice. She sat on the bed and began to talk

"I'm not sure you have heard but do know the name of Kanae?"

"Yea, the other butterfly Hashira that passed correct?"

"Yes. She was my sister,"

I knew about that but I didn't want to bring it up to not ruin the flow of the conversation

"One day she talked to me. Claiming to have found a demon that was not interested in hurting humans. She would go to see him every day but one day she never came home. It turned out that the demon that she pleaded for that was innocent was upper moon 2. They battled for the whole night before she finally died to him,"

Tears were starting to roll out of her face as she spoke. I thought about Tamayo, I didn't trust her at first but now she is one of the people I know I can use if it comes down to it.

"I'm sorry to hear about that," I said not expressing anything on my face

"That's why I have always hated demons. That is my motivation for being a demon slayer just to kill upper moon 2. I'm not as strong as him but I want to at least be able to kill him,"

"How are going to do that?" I asked. Although I had a good guess on what the answer might be
