As the summer air began to swarm them, as crowds of people speckled across the grounds and accumulated sweat in the beat of the summer- there was another call out to them. A deeper, more manly voice than the rest of them.

"Hey, guys!" It called out lazily, looking in the direction it came from eagerly, they softly smiled already knowing who it was. Drew.

The most popular guy in the school; loaded with money, hella charismatic, he was everything every man in the school wished they were. And the three boys just so happened to be his friends, and for that, the school liked them as well.

Drew walked close to them, and pulled out a new device yet again. "Check it," he grinned, "a new Nintendo switch. Now we have something to do other than that picnic we have planned today."

Ah, that was right. After school, they would be heading to a park and having a picnic. They hadn't gotten together in ages due to assignments or things they had to do, so now seemed like the perfect time.

"Hell yeah! Now I can impress that twitch streamer I've had an eye on for a while with my gaming skills.." Liam bit his bottom lip, looking smug. Henry groaned, "Dude, she doesn't even know you exist." He(Henry) rolled his eyes.

"Oh, but she will now! Trust me, when I tell her about me beating your asses in Mario Kart, she'll definitely be impressed." Liam bragged, looking sassy as he did so. "Sure, whatever, and then she'll move on to the next donation without a care in the world.." Henry sarcastically commented.

Liam scoffed, "Well, okay, then- if your gonna act like i'm the idiot, then you should know smart guys do not go after girls even when they say no." Henry gasped dramatically, "Hey! At least i'm smart enough to know-" This continued to as the other two watched.

Drew faced Jake with a smile, "Anyway.. you can come with right? The music freaks don't need ya for something?" He asked, lowering his brow a little teasingly. Jake chuckled uncomfortably, the 'music freaks' in question were his friends, yet Drew wasn't aware.

"N-No, I don't think so.." Jake scratched his head nervously, still averting his eyes from Drew's menacing dark, almost black, brown gaze.

"Good, then see you when schools over, Jake. I'll be goin' off to see Zoey now." Drew made a peace sign, then left off, without Henry and Liam even realizing. Jake sighed, "She's probably gonna take him on a shopping spree again, isn't she?" His face darkened.

"I wish he'd just listen to me when I try to tell him she isn't as loyal as he thinks she is." Thought Jake.

-

For Music Club, they were supposed to be having a civil, normal discussion on what to do for the competition. But, alas, they were not doing so.

The rapid playing of the guitar grew louder, as Hailey and Zander watched in emotionless irritation. Millie and Jake had been at this for a while now. Jake had randomly challenged Millie that he could play better than she could, and seemed to be losing.

Millie played a riff, "See, Jake?! I'm way better than you!" She chuckled, laughing at his amateur guitar skills. "Oh, I'll show youuuu!" He yelled, still happy as ever.

As tired as his fingers were, he endlessly played a slightly weird sounding riff on his guitar he had borrowed from the pink haired girl.

"Millie, Jake! Can we please just get back to the principal of the matter? Now is no time for something like this!" Zander rolled his eyes, looking a bit annoyed at their competition. Millie rolled her reddish pink eyes, "Oh, shut it Zander! Your just mad I play piano better than you, anyway."

Zander then looked offended. "How dare you?! Alright, that does it! I'll show you why classical music is better than your stupid rock!" Gasped he, as he raced to his piano. Millie sneered, "Your on, Grape Boy!" Jake only smiled at their interaction.

Today had been an awfully great day so far. He wondered why.

-

When the school day finished, and Jake declined an invite from the music club and didn't tell his friends, he began to walk to the park with his clothes he had just bought on.

Sunlight shimmered neatly on the blades of grass, turning them a shade of neon green, slightly tinged with a scent of yellow. His lovely, brown eyes then layed their eyes on the friends he had been hoping to meet. Liam, Henry, and most importantly; Drew.

"Guys! Hey!" He greeted loudly. They turned their bodies to face him, and grinned back at the smiling peach haired boy. "Jake, your here. You ready for our little picnic? We were just getting it set up." Drew asked as he approached closer.

"Yeah! I'll help too!" Jake promised. After minutes of preparing it and messing up a few times, they set the basket of food on the picnic cloth and picked out the food carefully. These had all been made by Henry.

You'd expect such a guy like him to be awful at it, but to be frank; he was actually quite good at it. Crisp, golden sandwiches. Fluffy, white frosted cupcakes. Etc.

Drew rapidly pressed his thumbs against the buttons of his Nintendo switch, as the others did so as well(though they were messily eating at the same time). "I'll- mmph.. show you, Henry! Your going down!" Liam playfully cheered as he slammed his cart into Henry's.

"I'm going down?! We'll see about that!" Henry yelled loudly, racing his cart after Liams. Jake and Drew only focused on the game, being ahead of the other two.

When Jake made the mistake of taking his sandwich, Drew slammed his cart into Jakes and made the boy groan in shock- "No! You traitor!" He laughed frustratedly, as his speech was muffled by the pieces of sandwich being crushed inside his mouth.

Drew laughed quietly in victory, even with Liam and Henry raging at him and randomly swearing different curse words at him.

"Oh man.. why are you so good at this?" Asked Jake. Liam slightly snickered and muttered a 'Thats what she said..', but was quieted out by Henry's rage. "Seriously! Your way better at gaming then me! Please.. teach me your ways!" Begged Henry, clinging to Drew.

"He- hey, get off me-" Drew tried shoving him off- he didn't like being touched after all.

Jake chuckled at the sight. Drew trying to get Henry the hell off of him, and Henry whining at Drew to teach him how to get as good as gaming as he is. It made his heart warm up in a bit of a weird way.

Truthfully, he wished it would stay like this, forever.
