The sunset began to start, and the four boys had decided to leave off. Drew waved his goodbye, and as did Liam. The only reason Henry and Jake did not bid eachother a farewell yet was because their houses were in the same direction.
"Man, today was sure fun, huh? I rarely ever get to do that kind of stuff with you guys anymore." Jake said, looking down at Henry with his warm brown eyes.
"Yeah, i haven't gotten to play Mario Kart with you all in person in a pretty long time- I guess making that food was worth my time after all." Henry smugly muttered in satisfaction, putting his arms behind his neck.
The two fell into a friendly silence for a good two minutes, until suddenly, the green haired boy spoke up: "Oh, hey, Jake." Jake turned to face him, "Yeah? What is it?" He asked in curiosity.
"Is it alright if we stop by somewhere? There's somewhere I need to stop by before I head home." Henry asked. Jake raised a brow, "Sure.. I don't mind spending a few more minutes with you."
"Yes!" Cheered Henry suddenly, looking eager. "O-Oh, I mean.. uh.. yeahhh, heheh.." He awkwardly laughed, looking a bit embarrassed as he scratched the back of his head.
Jake smiled in endearment at the embarrassed form the green haired boy had taken. He did wonder though: what could he possibly need to do?
-
The area was tinged with a warm orange color, as Henry and Jake headed up over a hill surrounded by tons of trees. When they had walked out of the tree crowded environment, over the cliff of the mountain was a completely different site.
It was a junkyard, or at least it looked like one. Covered in different pieces of trash, paper, etc. Jake was a little confused, what could Henry possibly have to do here?
When the two had gotten to the cliff area, Henry looked down and grinned like a little child. "Wooh! Now this is what I call paradise!" Henry cheered out, his voice echoing across the field. "Paradise?" Jake muttered in confusion.
"Oh, yeah- Jake, dude, I have found multiple things I've needed here before. And today they just added more stuff." Explained Henry, but Jake still looked very confused.
"Stuff you needed? Like what?" He(Jake) seemed curious. "Well- 50 dollars, a dead and unused Nintendo switch, a copy of the Sims 4- all that good stuff!" Henry listed proudly.
"Jeez, is this place a miracle station or something?" Joked Jake. "Dude, yes. This place is like heaven on earth." Henry's eyes shimmered with glee, like a small child seeing candy at a store.
"Haha! Gee, you really like this place, huh?" Jake softly said as Henry grabbed his shoulders happily.
Henry let go and pouted, "Hey, i'll let you know that this place is a sacred value to this earth." Jake laughed again, "Yeah, sure.. so, how long is this gonna take?" Asked he, curiously.
"Eh, only a little while. I've gone here so many times, it should only take a few minutes." Reassured Henry. "Now, jackpot, here I come!" Yelled out Henry, who then proceeded to practically leap over the cliff and glide off into the surface of the junk.
"H-Hey! Henry, wait up!" Jakes face turned concerned as he tried to slip off the cliff and into the junkyard. "I'll be fine, Jake! Like I said, this should only take a few minutes!" Shouted Henry, before turning around and scattering off to a random area.
Jake sighed longly, and sat lazily on the edge of the cliff. The only thing he could really do now was just watch as Henry did what he "needed" to do.
His thoughts raced. Drew. Liam. The music club. Several of those people crossed his mind as he tried to think of something to entertain himself with-
"Jake?"
A familiar voice sounded from behind him, causing his body to contort foward in fear. He nearly fell foward, but a pair of hands caught him immediately.
He breathed shakily, and turned his head to see who had caught him, even though he knew who it already was.
It was Sean- but- what was he doing here?
Sean was a dark skinned, fluffy haired man who had towered over basically everyone in the music club. He was the DJ, and would often wear headphones or jackets. Out of everyone in the club, he seemed to be the most calm, and the most close with Millie.
Sean looked down at him with a relaxed gleam in his dark eyes, he chuckled; "Jesus man, chill out." Jake gave him a dirty, but friendly glare. "Well, maybe if you hadn't shown up out of nowhere, maybe I would be chill." Jake smirked, a bit petty.
"Hey, relax, man. I was just wondering why you were here." Replied Sean, letting go of Jake. Jake turned around and stood up, dusting himself off.
"Well, Henry wanted to go out treasure hunting apparently, so I'm waiting here." Responded Jake, trying to smile, but still unsettled by Seans sudden appearance. "Treasure hunting?" Repeated Sean back, curious.
"Well, he seems pretty convinced that this place is heaven on earth, so currently he's looking around for some stuff here." Jake laughed a bit, looking at the struggling figure of Henry in the distance as he balanced himself on random junk.
"Pfff, heaven on earth? I wonder why a junkyard would be considered that.." Sean grinned a bit. Even if he wasn't exactly Henry's friend, it was still funny in a way.
"Haha.. maybe he's looking for a corpse or something." Joked Jake, laughing at his own joke, but he noticed the uncomfortable silence. Seans face seemed to be oddly dark all the sudden. Jake awkwardly stopped laughing.
"Hey man- that was a joke- it's just-" Jake's stuttering was then cut off by Sean talking again.
"What a frightening incident.. they say that man's arm is still missin'.." Muttered Sean. Like a chord being plucked, fear flickered inside Jakes face for a moment.
"Wha- what-" Sweat dripped down Jakes jawline.
"What a frightening incident.. they say that man's arm is still missin'.."
Those words repeated in his mind, before-
