"Dima, take a seat."

Henwick looked at the spectacle in front of himself, he was amazed at the fact that he would be the one to spin straw into gold.

Not a single bit of fear entered his mind at the thought of doing so. It was rather amusing to him to be the one to do it as he would do it correctly, no tricks needed.

Dima was right about his thoughts on goals in a weird way. If a cause was pursued in good faith, no matter what the end goal was, it was considered to be working in line with the forces of bountiful light. It would be supported and the common folk would back it through thick and thin.

However deceptiful the shadow of a cause's lie was, the weight of its benefits was exactly what the Eternal City needed to be exposed to. Well, more precisely, it was what the city of Attain would need in the coming days.

In Attain, any option forward was better than no option at all. For why would anyone want to be sitting doing nothing?

Dima, Day 1, 12:11 PM
Henwick probably heard everything he needed to hear from us in regards to our loyalty. Secrets weren't really our strong suit, that special sort of thing was reserved for the government only.

Way to just bring it all out there Dima, real good job. I guess that Felix wouldn't be getting his first impression that he wanted.

From when I met him last, Henwick was the type of man that enjoyed humbling himself every time he knew someone was in the wrong. He ingrained them in his mind as another set of fallible people who were destined to be "set straight" by him.

Around the city he may have been known as a vestibule of pride to many enviers, but to me he was the only good councilman left.

I took my seat across from Tamantha and next to Doctor Felix. I could feel the burning gaze of Felix sweep from my head to Krag's in an instant.

Waiting to hear what Henwick would say next, I wondered how the hell I ended up in this situation. I then took a drink of...something. It burned on the way down, I then knew it was whiskey.

Royal knights draped in blue cloaks flanked on either side of Henwick. They moved to guard the corners of the room, 4 of them moved in total, splitting into 2 groups.

Attain's finest would have a chance to show off today if anything were to happen. Brandishing a sword and a service pistol to kill any intruder.

Henwick, almost relishing the held breaths of his showstopping arrival in the room, stood upright and spoke again:

"It is my job today to welcome you all to your temporary job as Eyes Of Attain. Too key you into what task lies ahead of you that will help our city."

Walking forward, Henwick dumped a satchel of sand onto the table. The sand glimmered blue and shot up a few feet into the air, forming a shape of what looked like a man with tentacles attached to him.

"This is the single man that is responsible for causing the rain in our great city. The scouts within my entourage were able to track him down and deduce that an artifact within his grasp is causing the rain."

His look turned sour upon continuing his words, as though his thoughts frustrated him.

"All but one survived an attack by him"

"How did they die?" Doctor Felix queried

"All of them were drowned by that same artifact. The bodies were left with pale flesh with blue lips agape, clinging to the visage of a living man."

Henwick turned to me slowly,

"That specific artifact should have been destroyed years ago, correct Dima?"
