Within the next few days, Class 1A had begun to thrive in Bakugo's lessons. He hadn't learned their names, but no one cared besides Glasses.
They had been more open to discussion questions, and speaking their mind, which allowed them to become excited for class and responsive in training. It also helped that he had set up easygoing, warm ups to ease the kids into heroics while also getting their creative juices flowing. He noticed that this method tended to clear the student's heads before they went straight into immersing themselves with hard-core training.
They especially liked the readings, which happened on Mondays and Wednesdays. And quite a few had even opened up to sometimes feeling similar to how the author felt. That paved the way for Bakugo to both give advice as well as allow the class to talk out their emotions in a free space--something he wished he had more of as a kid.
Nevertheless, Bakugo found himself standing at his podium on Friday, tapping his fingers as he waited for the first block bell to ring. He hated starting earlier than the bell, and he really hated keeping the class after--so much so that he almost always let them out early.
Once the ringing sounds belted through the school, Bakugo heard the classroom chatters die out.
"Okay, so no specific class periods today. That said, you will not just sit on your lazy butts for six hours. We will hold an interactive discussion, a work hour, and then you all will vote on certain topics. Now stand the hell up." When the class merely looked around the room at each other, Bakugo scoffed. Motioning his hands upward, "I don't think you've heard. Stand up now."
That got the class moving.
Bakugo put his hands behind his back and walked around the podium to the front of the room. He grabbed two papers off his desk. One was red and said "disagree" while the other was green and said "agree."
He placed the red on the right side of the room, while the green was on the left.
"I am going to read off statements, and when I am done talking, you are going to walk to the side that best fits how you feel. The questions will get increasingly harder, and once they reach a certain point of difficulty, I will call on someone to share their reasoning. You won't get in trouble for your opinion unless you become rude with your ignorance. Further, you can change opinions if someone brings up information that sways you--in fact, I expect you to change opinions on some topics." Bakugo looked everyone in their eyes, making sure they understood completely. "Questions?" He waited a few seconds before turning around and sitting on his desk, legs propped up on the closest chair.
"Chocolate ice cream is vastly overrated." He began.
There were a couple people awkwardly shuffling around, the rest simply looked uncomfortable.
"This exercise won't be fun unless you participate. Now move." He said, using two fingers to pinch the bridge of his nose. He heard more shuffles and was pleased to find everyone had chosen a side when he looked up. He felt his lips twitch up as he realized what fun this would be.
"Puzzles are a waste of time." He said, looking at his nails as the students rearranged themselves. When he looked up, he surprisingly found almost half the class split. A couple people were whispering about puzzle brands, and others discussed how they were too impatient to actually sit down and do one.
"Winter is the best season." Fewer people agreed with that statement. Bakugo shrugged, getting up from his seat on the desk, he walked over to the front, siding with the disagreeing side. "I hate winter." He mumbled, rubbing his wrist.
"The term 'family' includes friends." At this, many of the kids stood there, not knowing how to respond to that sentence. It wasn't until Bakugo moved to the agreeing side, did the students begin filtering to their separate sides. Bakugo nodded, mentally noticing the slight hesitancy some of the students continued to show.
