A/N I'm so sorry for taking so long to update! This chapter was meant to be longer but I knew if it went on then I'd take even longer to publish! I'll try getting the next chapter out really soon!

The next day in English Vance acted like nothing happened yesterday and continued staring at Bruce. He managed to go almost the whole way through the class without being interrupted from his daydreams. Keyword: almost.

"Hey, Yamada." Vance was snapped back to reality at the sound of someone's -who was most certainly not the teacher- voice.

"Sup, Brady?" Bruce responded. The guy-Brady- looked over at Vance before looking back down to Bruce, who he was practically looming over.

"Might wanna tell your guard dog there to lay off, people might not want to talk to you with him around," Brady joked. Vance hastily turned his gaze elsewhere in hopes that Bruce will think Brady was lying or something.

"Leave him alone, man," Bruce replied. Brady shrugged and they quickly changed to a different subject.

After school let out Vance followed Bruce to the library. Bruce didn't seem to notice him. He had headphones on, listening to whatever he had playing from his Walkman.

Eventually, they arrived and Bruce sat down at a table. Vance gave it a few minutes before going over and sitting in front of him.

"What does it mean?" Vance asked. Bruce looked up at him, surprised. He choked on his drink.

"I.. um.." Bruce stuttered out. Vance looked at his expectingly, "Just means that you should stop staring, it freaks people out." Vance rolled his eyes.

"You know what I mean, Bruce."

Bruce glanced around. Vance saw him lock eyes with a boy, Finney. Finney have Bruce a nod before turning around to talk to who Vance always guessed was his boyfriend.

"Nothing. I was just messing around," Bruce decided on. Vance starred at the other boy straight in the eyes. Bruce starred right back. Vance felt his heart drop to his chest. stupid,
of course it was just a joke. Vance thought to himself.

"Oh, ok."

The next day Vance didn't spare a glance in Bruce's direction. Not even once. Vance wasn't really upset or anything, he just figured that if he ignored his.. y'know.. for Bruce that it'd go away. Yesterday basically proved that Bruce just saw flirting-can you even classify that as flirting?-with him a joke so that means Bruce doesn't like him.

Not that it'd matter because Vance would never admit to being attracted to boys, especially not Bruce Yamada, baseball prodigy and most popular guy in school. Vance was nothing compared to Bruce. He was a delinquent who beat people up just for messing up his game of pinball. The only people who would ever want him where those girls who claimed they could "change him". Vance would never change for one of them.

Two days- Three days if you count the day of the incident or today, Vance was never really sure if one of those days would count or not- after the "xoxo" incident, Vance was walking out of school when he heard several loud yells.

"Fight! Fight! Fight!" He could hear the chanting coming from a group of kids standing in a somewhat circle, obviously looking in on the fight.

Vance intended to ignore it but he heard what he could've sworn was Bruce's voice. He couldn't make out the words but he could recognize Bruce's voice anywhere.
