"Thank you" I mouthed to Larry, he smiled at me with the kindest smile.
Between here and in my dreams, I'd rather be here. The way it felt so much realer instead of euphoric gave me a sense of stability.
I reached down to all the dead leaves around me, nearly up to my knees. I grabbed a pile and threw it at Larry, quickly running away as to not get leaves thrown at me. I looked back and my expectations of seeing Larry right behind me were crushed. I stopped running, still looking behind me, when I turned back in front of myself there he stood. With arms filled with leaves, Larry dropped them all on top of me. Laughing like I've never heard anyone laugh, with pure joy and love.
I groaned and brushed the leaves off of my body, looking at him with a mischievous smile. I turned my head so that the others could hear me, still looking at Larry in the corner of my eye.
"Hey guys! Let's team up on Larry." They all cheered and howled, leaving Larry with a worried look. Everyone started running over with leaves in their arms, quickly enough Larry started to run away from us all. His long strides giving him an advantage.
We chased him all the way to the fences blocking off the woods, lined up in front of him. Larry dropped to his knees and lifted his hands in a praying way.
"Oh please give me mercy!" He begged, we all chuckled and before he could say anything more we all dumped our leaves over him. Laughing like dogs.
I've never had this much fun in my life, I've been here less than 10 minutes and I felt so alive that I swore I could stay here forever.
We all sat in a circle by the fence, catching our breaths from running. I looked at all of the people near me, taking in their features. God, they looked so much more alive and real here. I could get used to every bit of this.
"Hey you guys wanna hang out in the tree house? It's getting cold out here and we can whip out the heater!" Larry said, he finally brushed out all the leaves in his hair and on his clothes.
The group replied with 'sure's and 'sounds good'. I didnt say anything, I just nodded my head and stood up. Following after the group about two or three feet behind, not wanting to invade. They didnt know me the way I knew them, yet.
As I fell behind I started to worry, what if they thought I was weird for just tagging along? What if they dont like me like they did in my dreams? Suddenly I felt sick to my stomach. Not wanting to think about it anymore, I walked beside Larry. He knew me just as I knew him, and I found the safest possible comfort in that.
I could feel eyes on me, I looked up to Larry and he was looking at me. I looked back staring right into his eyes, giving him a sweet smile. Here in the real world I could finally get a wonderful view of his features.
He had tan skin with a beauty mark below his left eye. His eyes a deep brown, I stared at them as we walked, I wasn't at all worried about tripping or running into anything. All I was worried about was showing him that I missed him. Even though we had never actually met, i missed him. It felt like my whole life i missed him, someone I never actually knew.
We had made it back to the tree house and one by one we all climbed up, Larry set up the heater and we all sat around it to keep warm. The fall air now biting our cold limbs and noses.
"So how long have you and Larry known eachother, Y/n?" Sal asked, I guess he was in on keeping the dream thing a secret too. Which I was so thankful for.
"A few years." I pulled my knees to my chest, hugging them.
"Oh that's cool! How did you guys meet!?" Ashley was eccentric as always, meeting her here gave me a sense of joy, her personality almost lighting up the dim treehouse.
