We had caught up with Larry and Sal, they still bickered like little kids do; pushing each other around with skateboards in their arms. Larry's howling laugh and Sal's slightly muffled one created a nice atmosphere; making me feel even better.

The park was in view now, and it felt like a wonderful day to be out. Although yesterday was cold, fall has a way of changing every other day. The sun felt warm on any exposed skin I had, I'd prefer the rain but sometimes a bit of warmth is always nice. The sky looked perfect; like a painting. The sun was out and was swarmed with big puffy clouds. I looked a little further into the sky and found a pile of darker clouds; perhaps I'd get both warmth and rain today; a joy!

I had just noticed that Ash had a pair of roller skates tied together onto her draw string bag. I was the only one without something to skate on; although it's not like I've ever skated. I've never been outside enough to do so.

"Ash you roller skate?" I asked, making a point at the shoes I had just noticed.

"Yeah! I skate a little bit," she cooed back at me.

"A little bit? Y/n you should see the killer tricks she can do with those things!" Sal nearly stopped in his tracks, not letting Ash be a moment humble.

Ash pushed Sal; although lightly. This ended in them running around Larry and I like elementary kids with a crush. I had thought it was cute; and apparently Larry did too as he smiled and giggled at their banter. I looked over to Larry, seeing his smile; I truly could get used to seeing it. He looked over to me and smiled even more, I had no choice but to smile back, it was contagious! We all continued our way to the park, nearly there now. It seemed to be empty; even though it was such a nice day. I assumed not many kids here used the park anyways, although I don't know any of them yet besides our small group.

Once we made it to the park Sal was the first to show off. It was incredible to watch, for someone with a lack of depth perception he sure was good at skating. While Ash tied up her laces Larry nudged me and told me to "watch this", after seeing Sal board I was in high hopes to see what Larry could do, and for a couple seconds he did well! He was about to turn and I assume do some kind of flip but one of his wheels ran over a hefty looking rock. This resulted in Larry quite literally going flying, at first I was shocked; then I couldn't stop laughing. For someone so confident to fall while showing off was a little funny. I ran over to him and knelt down, he was face first into the hard pavement. Larry wasn't even trying to get up, he just laid there and groaned; not in pain but in embarrassment.

"Larry get up," I giggled at him, I was hoping he didn't have any kind of cut or scrape. He pushed himself up and sat down with his knees up. He looked at me with defeat in his eyes and groaned.

"That was so lame," he huffed out, I was trying not to laugh at him again. By now Sal and Ash were also hovering over us on the ground. Sal was obviously holding in a laugh and Ash wasn't hiding it at all.

He eventualy got off the ground and we decided to sit on the bench together and watch Sal and Ash. Ash called over to us from the half pipe, standing on the peak of one the sides. She went back and forth from each side until eventually speeding up and flipping onto one of the sides. My mouth fell open; not only did she do a complete flip in skates but she managed to land it and make it look elegant. Ash looked over to the both of us, I assumed Larry had an equally shocked face as I did because she had the beggest grin I've ever seen on her face. In the corner of my eye I could also see Sal doing all sorts of freestyles. It was amazing to see how good they were, I almost felt envious.

Nearly an hour passed of Ash and Sal skating, Larry and I sat on the bench for a while. Then Larry insisted on teaching me how to skate; it took some convincing after I saw Larry fall not even 20 minutes before. After I had enough of falling off and tripping over myself we sat under a tree near the park. The leaves were still falling off as we sat under it, even more leaves rested underneath us. We sat there talking, joking, and being our usual selves together. A couple times I would reach up and catch a falling leaf in my hands, the feeling of one landing in my palm was so serene.
