*Royal Prince Dick and the shock of my life*

*Calista*

I'm so afraid to look up. Now, I think it's my mum's turn to fawn over the prince. My posture is very rigid, but I'm still talking to the king and queen. Some prince isn't going to make me stop such a privilege.

When I felt the piercing gaze of someone, I had to look up. We both look at each other with obviously different thoughts. The first thing in my mind is maybe this marriage isn't going to be bad after all. I mean with a face like that, it's kinda hard to think about why you don't want to marry a handsome prince. He has dirty blond hair which will look brown when wet. He got his mother's eyes which are very beautiful. He looks 6'2. I really don't care as far as he's taller than me. Why didn't I want to marry again?

It had to take the voice of his mother to snap me out of my craziness. "Darius, why were you late?" It doesn't take a genius to know she's pissed but is doing her best to control it.

"There was some unfinished business that needed to be taken care of mother" he replies.

"And it couldn't wait?" the queen asks. "Cut the boy some slack Daph" my mum rushes to Darius' rescue, and I notice the unmistakable sigh of relief.

"Well now that Darius is here, let's go and eat," my dad says. When we go to the dining room, it takes restraint in the world to make me not drool. I knew the sitting room will be magnificent, but the sight of the dining room shocked me.

"What do you want to ask Calista?" the queen asks. I didn't know the question on my face was so obvious. "I didn't expect the dining room to be this grand. I mean I know you have 3 kids, 3 nephews, their parents, and your mother and father-in-law,but..."

"It still seems much for a family of 14 ?" she completes. "yeah"

"Well, you know we host balls, and apart from our immediate and extended family, we still have some family friends like your parents. Whenever we are doing family dinner, we use our other dining which we are using now," she explains. "Oh, okay. Also, your highness, there's no need to call me Calista. If you want, you may call me Callie" I say.

"Since we are striking a deal, there is no need to call me your highness sweetie. We are family. Call me Daphne. It's less formal." Prince Darius snickers but covers it with a cough.

The queen as in the QUEEN OF ENGLAND wants me to call her by her name. I smile in reply.

Our parents talk clearly having the time of their lives while I and the prince are quiet and eating our food. It's nice to see some of us were having the time of our lives(note the sarcasm).

The appetizer and main meal were delicious. No matter how stuffed I am, I never deny myself dessert. After the very delicious dessert, I compliment the king and queen ready to relax in the sitting room when our parents suggest Prince Darius and I talk."Darius, Calista, you kids should go talk, and get to know each other." Okay, I'm just gonna ignore the fact that my dad just called 23 and 25-year-old kids.

"We are already 23 years too late for that" I  mutter.

I actually entertain the thought of running but once I see my parents' expression, I stay put and suck it all up. I follow the prince sluggishly, and hear the queen say, "show her around Darius."
Show me around? This place is freaking huge there's no way he can show me around. Is there even an elevator? I mean there has to be because this palace is freaking huge. Darius finally stops walking and gestures for me to enter the room. I wonder if I should stand or sit. Isn't wrong to like to sit before being asked to in someone's home?
